Emisar D18 introduction

Scallywag: Get both. (sorry to keep you waiting  )

I don’t like soda-can shaped lights, but I will definitely buy this one for that price…

That doesn’t sound like Andúril.
Is it RampingIOS v3 or RampingIOS v4?

I’m super excited about this, but would have liked it to be 21700 format.

Nice idea! I was actually going to ask about this, but you had already answered before I saw the thread.

That could be tricky due to how the optics are installed, but if it can be done, so much the better to have the option.

Impressive work, Hank!

Any plans to offer grey, or other colors in general?

I’ll have what TK is having, if you can make it.
I realize it takes significant effort to find matching Vf’s for a variety of emitters.
Worth it!

LOL! Amen to that.

  • “Here is a new flashlight I made.”
  • “What flashlight should I make?”

Apparently some people can’t tell the difference between the two.

I feel like number of equivalent Q8s should be the new standard measurement.

How does this new flashlight compares with the 'competing' astrolux MF01S? It also use 14 Sst20 leds but claim 1000 more lumen!

I feel like a competition is starting to come!

By the way, here are my suggestion! I like the desgin a lot! I hope they will be one with 'clear anodize' finish!

give me copper please i dont care about it being super heavy

huh mf01s isnt even prestented yet or is it ?

Texas Ace is the one who worked on the MF01S and advised he’s not signed off on the final lumen output as he still hasn’t received the final prototype.

Astrolux pushed that out ahead of schedule to answer the D18

MF01 mini & MF01S dropped today

Freeme confirmed
MF01 mini GB begins April
MF01S GB begins June

He’d never be able to source enough with a decent consistent bin

If I am not mistaken, the Astrolux uses batteries in Series, and the Emisar uses batteries in Parallel.
For that reason alone, I would pick the Emisar over the Astrolux.

I think the Emisar is also much smaller compared to the MF01s.

D18 is def lighter and smaller. I’m not a big fan of the aux leds.

If I can - why could he not? He can order through digikey 5600pcs per box with a 6 week leadtime….all the same W6 bin that is higher lumen bin than the Cree XP L he carries……

Arrow even has free shipping for the T6 bin (6wk mfg leadtime also)

I imagine Hank knows better than probably anyone in China where and how to get what parts he wants….even if other manufacturers are unable or unwilling to do so for various reasons. Just wish he would do it - I would love Emisars D4S and D4 with LH351D….

Always good to have competition I think.

Does anyone know why sst20 is use instead of cree xml or other? I understand if cri is required, sst20 or nichia 219b is excellent, but for lumen maxness, why not use cree led or luxeon v2? Or maybe I am not understanding something.

I hope someone can have them in hand to do side by side competition test!!

This looks amazing, gonna be an expensive year for flashlights I think.
