Micro usb charger...

So I am selling a homemade light at work, made of a convoy S9…
To make it easier I am selling everything at once, since most guys are not “into it”.

The S9 has an onboard micro usb charger… I need to source a decent 1 amp wall charger. Any ideas?

Only 1 amp? Local walmart or eBay. Probably ~$3.

Ok thanks… Just want to make sure I get something halfway decent

Wait are you talking a 120v to 5v USB plug? Or you talking a 120v Li-Ion 18650 charger?
Any of the cheap usb things should work. Probably won’t find 18650 charger at Walmart if that’s what you want tho.

Amazon is your friend, and you don’t even have to start your car, burn 4 dollars in gas, to buy a 3 dollar charger.

There are tons of them. Just saw 3 for 8 dollars. You can even get 2A chargers 3 for 9 dollars

Ok… Just want decent quality…these are for other people for a project I’m doing

Look for HKJ’s reviews.

The better quality usb chargers by Anker, Ravpower, or even Allmaybe, are going to be more like 10 to $15 each.

These might be pretty decent though. 3200 reviews. They can’t all be fake reviews

Basically, you’re going to get what you paid for.

I like the Aukey brand as well.

Forgot about them. Yes, another good one.

Allmaybe is an Xtar brand. http://www.allmaybe.com/

I usually sell the USB charging flashlights with only the cable…
Everyone already has some USB ports on their laptop/desktop/car/whatever.
Never had any complaint about the price either, so I guess my offer is fair
30€ for (flashlight + 18650 + charger) OR (USB rechargeable flashlight + 18650 + cable) is honest and get me about 10€ of margin

We want to see the mod

I’m wondering about something,

How safe is it to charge with a desktop PC or laptop’s USB port? (Computer USB port are usually limited to the USB 2.0 spec of 500mA = 0.5Amp)

If a USB-based battery charger (or a flashlight with built-in charging) can charge at 1A rate (ie. it can draw roughly 1 amp from the USB port), and is plugged to a computer’s USB port, will the charger try to “overload” the USB port by drawing more power than the USB port can provide? Or will the USB port limit the current draw to 0.5Amps (which is the spec) — so the charger will charge slower, but will not damage the USB port?

HKJ reviews will guide you to a decent one.

Either one of these are hands down better than the cheapies at WalMart, and really only slightly more expensive than the ultra cheapies.

Check out HKJ’s reviews. I did and replaced all my WalMart cheapies. :+1:

My advice is avoid the WalMart cheapies like the plague……

There are lots of buying platforms, and you can even buy the one that’s right for you.
