【convoy】H4 and B35AM options are updated

I see everything rhymes with AK

cheeky breeki

I like the frosted lens idea! Will it be available to buy on your aliexpress shop?

Um. I don’t decide which one yet. It is easy to buy them in China. I will select the appropriate one.

it’s easy to find them in China ,what degree do you need?

Then, my suggestions for 20mm × 12.8mm Yajiamei optics:

Clear surface:

- all of them should be checked for each unique LEDs to be used with, because beam artifacts would be visible depending on light emitting surface shape and textures

- also, less suitable to mix tint of the LED

- 5 degree variant gives the most throw

  • negligible spill outside the hotspot, most of the light is focused in the hotspot (or there is a small corona as well)

Beaded surface:

- handles the different LED emitting surfaces very good, mixes tint better

- negligible spill, but it is a bit more than spill of the clear surface, also, slightly textured

  • my personal choices: 10 or 15 degree gives very good throw; 25 degree is the best for general usage; 38 degree is a bit floody, above that, definitely floody, but still defined hotspot

Frosted surface:

- handles different LED emitting surfaces very well, even the worse ones (best tint mixing ability)

- much more light is present in the spill

  • my personal choices: 15 degree gives a nice, conical profile gradually strengthening hotspot, 30 degree is already noticeably floodier; 85 degree feels like an extreme flooder (almost no hotspot perceived)

I regularly use Yajiamei optics in S2+, so my recommendations would go for:
flashlight: 10 and 25 degree beaded, 15 degree frosted
headlamp: 38 degree beaded, 30 degree frosted (also, 60 degree beaded and 45 degree frosted, if more flood is required - e.g. for close range hand work)

I do not know how to explain, translucent.
For S3, C8 and S11

Nobody discussing the most important issue. Headband color!

I vote for black band with gray “Convoy” text, please use the font from the s9/mk.

+1

unfortunately,i didnt get SST40 5000K
ramping driver is ready
here is the link of flashlight
black C8+ with SST40

non-flickering

modes

Looking good any C8+ 21700 soon ?

I like the demo video! But i think it’s wrong… it starts in third mode, shouldn’t this be first mode?

Simon the S11 is a nice size. Easier to hold for me and offers some more heat sinking. The upcoming 21700 S2+ will be sure to please. I wanted to share that a 20mm driver would fit into the driver ring if it is flipped over and soldered. Thanks.

Any update on the 22mm to 17mm adapter?

Comrade Tamagotchi has a great selection of different drivers!

What kind of driver is it in the non-PWM C8? Adjustable current linear? Buck?

I’d really like to see some of these warmer/neutral SST-40’s. My Astrolux FT03’s are delayed. Anyone selling bare emmiters?

I wish Luminus would introduce a high-CRI SST-40. That would interest me. Until then, I’ll add another mention for the LH351D. It has great output at 3A and can be overdriven quite a bit beyond that without any problems. I don’t know why Chinese companies seem disinterested in it - perhaps Simon is in a position to shed some light on that.

It’s not easily available in China.

Chinese companies seem to have disinterest in buying products from other countries.

Probably because they have to pay import fees, taxes and customs, etc.

+1 for Luminus should make 95 CRI SST-40, and that could be sold like sugar.

Unfortunately, SST-20 is somewhat limited in output, but still, it is reasonable to drive it up to 3.5A (I would not go over that for efficiency reasons, but based on BLF measurements, it is still safe at 5A).

Also, Luminus should make 95 CRI 4500K, that would be quite something

(I already gave away two Convoy S2+ with SST-20 4000K installed for friends, as they love it.)

With the new C8 driver you could also build a 3v XHP50.2 lights. I think the 3v LED is rated for 6amps.
Id love to see some pics of the new driver and will you sell it separately?
