Actually, please please please please please if there are variations in the S2, can we not call it an S2?
Just like the Sofirn SP10, where there was the original, the A version, then the B version, then the colored-B-version which was the same as the renamed-black-A-version, with tweaks to the UI (so original UI, new UI which became the older UI, then the new UI, …) and nobody knew what they were getting until they actually received the light.
Different styles, different knurling, different battery-tube, etc., let’s call it something different?
And please, not just an ‘S’ suffix, which drives me buggy when someone would write “18650S” and you have no idea if they mean more than one 18650 cell or the Folomov 18650S flashlight.
I’m voting for this. It’s much easier to order with strict model/features correspondence. I’m perfectly fine even with something like “Convoy F123DG45” if it would encode all features exactly.
I personally vote for calling the new 21700 S2+ version the “S21”. Plays into the 21700 battery format, and indicates that it is functionally different from the S2/S2+/S3/etc family.
Yeh. And even with the S2/S2+, if they have different styling, different length, different reflectors and pills, even different threads so they’re not lego-able, it can get confusing to those who’d think otherwise. Like, “the ‘+’ just means improved”.
I’d be okay with the “S21” as noted above. Describes it nicely.
Something I’m noticing with the H1 is it only has one small groove that could accommodate a pocket clip, and only in a head-up configuration. I usually prefer my angle lights head-down in my pocket, and a larger groove tends to make the clip more secure.
When it comes time to revise the design, better support for pocket clips, in both head-up and head-down orientation might be worth looking at.
