Whut?? . I figured all along you “got it” DavidEF…. … … :+1:
But I got to thinking ’some one’ else might not.
It been “all good” all along my friend. My apologies if it came across any different. .
Neal responded - said it can ship today, with the E07 you ordered. I know with me in the past, orders got held up by Neal if I had another separate order placed on an item he didn't have on-hand in stock, so he can ship them together. No special treatment, I don't think
Hhmm. I usually get a shipping notice email from Neal's store and that has shipping/tracking info - it looks automated. Dunno - he may upgrade my shipping if something special. Frustrating though that email is the only place the tracking info is.
Been having some fun with my GT Micro…. seems to pack a nice punch for such a small light. Also the throw beam is a lot more usable than I imagined; the spill is quite usable for my evening walk. The farthest target I can hit here at home is about 650ft (200m) and the light reaches easily with more to spare. And fits nicely in the side pocket of my hiking pants.
Teacher, from the flip side of the coin I see why they glue… for one thing to lock in the warranty, can’t have a warranty if people are going in mucking about with the innards. And for safety reasons as well, not everyone that mods knows how to mod.
I don’t often sell lights I build because I build hot rods, I spend the time making them do all they can do, within my abilities, and invariably someone gets ahold of my light and wants to see what I did, opens it up and destroys the focus, breaks wires, or just in general mucks up what I spent a couple of hours getting right. I want to glue mine too! (in part to help keep ME from modding them again!)
Being as how Simon is a really nice guy, he probably takes a beating in the warranty department. A VERY high percentage of that not being an actual warranty issue…
And yes, I hear you, but in the big picture they probably only have a single digit percentage of lights they make that actually get opened and tampered with. We are a limited few here on BLF, the world market buys em to use and that’s that. I know quite a few flashaholics that are afraid to open a light, seems to them that even if they just take the bezel off they mess something up (fingerprints on the reflector being a number one concern). So, we are a very small if not quite silent minority…
Got mine today. Stuck a battery in it and it came on as I screwed up the cap. And stayed on. No modes, no ramping, and no off. Fortunately a quick clean of the head did away with that and now it works perfectly. Smaller and much nicer than I thought it was going to be, and quite powerful.
