I got a new head (I think) from Neal. I said I think because I'm currently travelling until the end of March but I'm sure the package they showed me a picture of must be the new head from Neal. In other words all should be fine now but I'll report again after I'm home.
wow switch problems still? i thought that was just a few early batches of this light… :person_facepalming: i guess they still have stocks of the older batches it seems…
I and others got a new head replacement from Neal, not sure how banggood are gonna but i hope they solve it for u.
ask them to send a replacement head because broken switch is clearly faulty light and not you who caused it.
/\ I totally agree. Switch issues are very random & far between. As Jason mentioned, 19 reported of around 1000 is only 1.9%… if I did my math right.
In the big scheme of things… that is not bad at all.
I’ve also discovered the source of the problem: the switch cover doesn’t fit well in its stock position, meaning switch presses are unlikely to register well, if at all.
Just rotating it a bit fixes the problem entirely.
I would prefer the issue having it fixed stock though. 1,9% is high still.
I’ve initially had the same problem a long time ago when I got the GT Mini.
It wasn’t always registering clicks properly.
So, being the curious guy that I am, I removed the switch, rotated it by 1/4 of a turn(90 degrees), and the problem was fixed. Not matter how weak or how strong the press was, the click always registers now.
I have already placed it horizontally. First I removed the rubber switch and then the metal ring. It's impossible not to leave marks but they are hidden by the metal ring.
Tomorrow I will try it to see if it has been solved.
