second batch is in production now

just for fun,i dont know if BLFers need this
Could you please put this lens on sale? I think, it would be super useful for cases, when LED has unusual light emitting surface.
E.g: think about this quad emitter array - or just when first generation XHP50 or 70 is used
One more question: do you have a reflector, which can fit this quad emitter array above? Or at least, is it possible to drill a d = 11mm hole into a C8 reflector?
i thought no one was interested in this stuff
and maybe diffuser is more usefulis there a hole in the spot if you a SMO reflector on quad emetter array?
If there is no light emitting surface in the center of the LED array, the hotspot will look like a ring with somewhat dimmer center part (many people calls that donut hole).
Already with first generation XHP70, the missing crosshair shaped area is apparent, but with XHP50, the crosshair pattern is proportionally more pronounced, and with this quad above, it is even more pronounced. When someone uses an SMO reflector with these emitter arrays, if the exact center of the beam is checked, one should see a crosshair shaped dark streak on the reflector as well, when looking into the flashlight (of course, very low current is needed then to check this to avoid eye injury) - this is just because of geometry, irregular things gets focused, and can be seen as beam artifacts.
For XHP70, the coarse OP pattern does its job within the Convoy L6, but for XHP50, it is already impossible to cancel this pattern with just an OP reflector, so then, SMO reflector, and this frosted lens would be better (of course, the beam will get much floodier).
And while this 3535 quad MCPCB gives even more pronounced crosshair pattern than the XHP50, sometimes this is the only solution to get good output of some LEDs with lower maximum recommended driving current - so here comes this frosted lens handy
And if there is not even an absence (or irregular shape) of the light emitting surface, this lens can also help with emitters, which have huge differences in tint depending on the direction of the emitted light compared to the center of beam.
i have some 42*1.5mm and 20.5*1.5mm frosted lenses,
i can send it to you for free if you need it ,
i’m not ready to sell it
And Simon.
For the lots of Plain torch owners out here.
A C8+ with single or triple LED. 26650 cell.
and basic ON/Ramp. Turbo. OFF. SIDE switch only.
A L2 Convoy the same would be nice tooo.
Rear switches are soo awkward I find.
Unless a person has small hands. the 26650 tube
is soo much more comfortable to hold.
Will there be a 21700 Convoy M1? I really want one.
Hmmm. I’m contemplating if I should buy the H1 or wait for the next batch with the better UI.
Hey Simon, maybe you can sell the H1 with those “rosy” 5A1 or 5D1 XML2 from your store and I might just buy one anyway.
CREE XML2 T6-5A1 / T6-5D4 rosy tint with copper DTP plate

Simon, I remember seeing that the H1 is 2.5A; is the PCB 16mm? Just thinking for the second batch, in case I feel like changing emitters

Thank you very much :+1: I will ask for them in my next order.

i’m ready to lauch some flashlights with side switch and micro-usb charging port,
i think it’s very suitable for you

in fact ,it’s 5A1 in current H1,
if you dont like the UI , you can wait for next batch

yes,2.5A and 16mm PCB
Great news I’ve got some LH351D’s on 16mm in 4000K and 5000K I’ll want to test - and some TIR lenses from you should be arriving soon. Good times!
Convoylover: zeremefico:Which driver will be used in S21A?
Probably any 17mm driver that also fits in the S2 (Simon mentioned that already). My preference still is Biscotti or plain single mode. You can buy a host, driver and LED and assemble it yourself - quite easily.
20mm driver for S21A
Oww, I thought you mentioned that reflector and pill were the same as the S2, so a lot could be interchanged.
Are you planning to produce 20mm drivers with 7135*x single/5mode and Biscotti?
clientequator:hello Mr Simon Mao, I see an interesting silver S2+ for 21700 size in your photo! Is this for sale yet?
this is an sample,
S2+ 21700 is in production
Very exciting. Can’t wait.
Simon, are you also still planning to make a quad emitter host for the S2+ 21700?
(wrote @ 02/16/2019)
ready to produce S2+ 21700,
no big difference from S2+ 18650,
diameter 24-24.5mm , almost the same as S2+ 18650
,but a little longer .
the reflector and pill are the same
Simon, is this still true, or has it changed?

Simon, that sounds nice, that you change the UI… Can you tell about the LEDs you will offer in the new batch (Hi CRI SST20 3-4000k or others… SAMSUNG LH351D 4000K 90CRI LED also fine:-))??
Jens
and thank you again for your fast answers in this forum!! :+1:
Simon, for the USB charging lights, how difficult would it be to switch to a Type C port?
Most phones (not counting Apple and their Lightning port) have been using Type C since 2016. That means people are more likely to have Type C cables laying around than Micro. Not to mention Type C is just pbjectely better in every way.
Personally, I’m trying to phase out Micro USB and actively avoiding buying new products that have it. Even if it causes a small price increase, I’d gladly pay that to not deal with Micro USB charging cables.
+1 for USB-C charging port
Another +1 for USB-C. MicroUSB doesn’t belong on newly-introduced products in 2019 even if it’s cheaper.
I noticed some interesting options for the XHP50.2 emitters listed in the Convoy store. The description says “Ra(H4-3A)=90 other Ra= 70”.
First of all, an XHP50.2 in a rosy tint bin with 90 CRI? Given the reputation of current generation Cree emitters, I’ll believe it when maukka’s photospectrometer sees it, but that could be pretty amazing. Of course, it will still likely need heavy texturing or some diffusion for a nice looking beam.
And then there are 40G and 30G lumped in with those “others” that have Ra=70. This is not listed in the datasheet; might these actually be Ra=80?

i can produce some 20mm drivers or 20mm to 17mm adapter ring.
