WTB: Jetbeam RRT01 – Any place to buy it?! + [RRT01 2019 discussion]

I noticed that to, the led protector, centering washer needs twisted a bit like djozz says.

@djozz Nice trit candy, doesn’t have a tail switch so no lighted switch. The trit adds a custom look. :+1:

@geuzz “The grease helped the feel of the control ring” are you using the friction grease that’s used in the V11R. I may try adding some to mine if it helps, mine has the detents. Looks like jetbeam may have listened to suggestions in this thread if there no more detents. Even though that seems awful quick to make a change in production from when it was brought to jetbeams attention here.

Mine had very little grease in it upon opening it up. I think the RRT01 was designed so that the small roller bearing with spring creates the resistance while turning the ring. The grease is just there to lubricate the roller bearing. The V11R has very little resistance without the friction grease. If you get the amount of friction grease just right, the V11R is way smoother. But the RRT01 is by no means rough. They are both pretty smooth but the V11R would win in this category. The one handed no flip to off is the best feature of the RRT01, just turn the ring to the far left and it’s off.
If I had to choose, I prefer my V11R that I bored to except 18350 with a 90cri 4000k LH351D and a loneoceans lighted battery indicator switch using the factory Sunwayman forward momentary switch with my current mod, this is a heavily modded light though. If I was choosing between both factory lights, I would choose the RRT01 for the simpler operation. Each has their own advantages and disadvantages. Both are great simple UI lights.

I do have the old style RRT01 on the way, jon_slider liked his so much I had to try the old style too and I’m pretty fond of the new style. If anyone needs a measurement or something feel free too ask and I’ll check when it gets here. I’ll probably mod it shortly after I get it.

might I ask how it is that you have one of the old style on the way? Few and far between I think?

From the link in this thread, post #214. WTB: Jetbeam RRT01 – Any place to buy it?! + [RRT01 2019 discussion] - #213 by wynand
I emailed them and ask if they would ship to the USA. Tom said they do it all the time and that would be no problem. I couldn’t order from the site because my country didn’t have a shipping option, so I created a account and emailed them.
Tracking say’s it’s all ready landed in New York, 3 days from when I ordered. From the emails we had, seemed like a pretty good bloke.

thank you, I’d forgotten I’d seen that … or maybe the $ kept me away. He has some ‘other’ amazing lights on his site.

I noticed this too. The centering has a square cutout on the bottom, the same size as the ledhole but not all the way thru and 45 degrees rotated. The led sits in this pocket now.

I use thick yetzl silicone grease from fasttech. It’s too thick for normal thread lubricating, but perfect for this. I have it in my V11R also and it holds up very well.

I agree it’s very quick if they removed the detents because of our comments here, maybe they had the same conclusion after producing the first batch.

Price is even better on Fasttech : 55.67$

thanks.

….anyone know how many O rings there are on RRT 01, and size please?.
thank you.

Clemence, didn’t understand the title quoting :expressionless:
Is that any suggestion to change the title?

No, I don’t want the title to change at all.
I did that on purpose to remind a particular someone who didn’t seem to realize the topic here

Ahah, thanks  As I started the thread long ago with WTS part, I thought it ma be confusing (even after I added the “discussion about the 2019 model”)!
Thanks for clarifying :+1:

It’s not a bad thing in this case, but too many derailed topics will confuse people and blur the subject.

I’m very happy with my new TCR1, just swapped the emitter. Considering adding a trit dot to it.

Whooooo… cool picture! :+1:
Your multi tool compliments RRT01 styling.

[Clemence]

Now you made me reconsider about getting one :o

Thnx guys. I am starting to like it better also, even thinking of ice blue trits.

As it is build like a tank, I thought the bare aluminium would suit it. Real tool now.

I have a RRT 01 Flat White on way.
looking for a second RRT 01 to compliment/back it up.
any suggestions ?.
HCRI is a must.

5k E21A?.

thanks.

I was looking for a good led for my RRT-01, it has to have good output but also a good tint 4000Knor less and great CRI, and the die size is not important. The output requirement limited me to LH351D and XP-L Hi but of both I have never seen the combination of good tint&CRI. Then I thought about the 4000K 90CRI XP-L2’s that I still have a bunch of, they have ugly green tint and the rainbow beam but perhaps slicing/dicing one would help. So I did:

It did not work out perfectly, the tint of the hotspot was 3600K, and just 89CRI, with R9 only just under 50. The green was gone and now only slightly above the BBL but it was still not great. Furthermore the rainbow was better but not completely gone, and there were a few more beam artifacts. The output was very good however, the same as the cool white XP-L Hi: just under 700 lumen.

So now I swapped in a SST-20 3000K, and am still not happy. The Jetbeam reflector is pretty unforgiving and still shows artifacts in the beam, faint rings where I do not want them.

Next try is a sliced LH351D.

Btw, you can get to the led in a conventional way, just screw off the bezel and remove lens, o-ring, reflector and centerpiece. Only con is (un)soldering the led wires inside a deep hole.
