The reflector looks pretty shallow (very wide spill, small hotspot). 89kcd screams for a slicing job, I hope that the OP of the reflector is light enough to keep good throw with the smaller die.
It’s 148kcd (769m), not 89kcd.
Output is closer to 7,000 lumen.
They are posting conservative output numbers taken with Panny GA 18650 cells iirc.
Output goes up with high drain cells. It’s a FET driver.
These are Sofirn’s test numbers. No one from BLF has tested it’s real performance.

90 mm head diameter is impressive - didn't expect it to be that big. The ThorFire S70S is 74 mm - I got one but not sure if I ever did any modding to it, nothing major like a custom driver for sure.

I think they made nice improvements overall - dims, the look, nice finning. I like the knurling on the tubes over the ring pattern the S70S had.

My guess is it's a dual spring setup.
It does look like it suffers from your reflector pet peeves. Thick bezel and you can see the entire edge of the reflector from the front. If that 90 is measured from the outside of the head it’s much less ID.
Everybody, Sofirn messaged me recently and they said that the springs are indeed gold plated dual BeCu springs. They also thanked me for the advice
I wonder how this light will perform with 2x Samsung 40T or 2x Molicell P42. The power of these cells should yield in way better lumen/lux numbers, shouldn’t it?
Yea you should be able to get around 8k lumens with top cells.
