FW3A, a TLF/BLF EDC flashlight - SST-20 available, coupon codes public

If itā€™s easy enough to convert to a triple, put me on the list CRX :innocent:

Very nice CRX. I always love a good zoomie!

And yes please on the electronic switch for it.

DO IT! Iā€™M IN!

Hey team FW3A, I would like to please be put down for a 4th light. Thanks

Iā€™d love to see a light manufactured that you were involved with designing, even a zoomie  Somebody not getting back to you sounds like a huge missed opportunity.

+1.

Though I canā€™t help but wonder why it needs so much driver space.

Thatā€™s supposed to be solid copper heatsink

FW3A optics expected to finally arrive next week as previously announced.

In the meantime, could anyone remind me what was that new great looking light some people are taking about?

An update from Neal: Optics are expected next week, and assembly should start very quickly. Heā€™s planning to send some items for smoke testing to make sure nothing is broken, and then it sounds like actual production can happen. Emitters are XP-L HI 3D and SST-20 4000K.

An optimistic timeline puts launch at about 3 weeks, if everything goes as well as possible.

okay so its confirmed that samsung emitters are scrapped and sst20 instead correct ?

Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twiceā€¦

???

Iā€™m not sure if itā€™s scrapped or just delayed.

okay TK, guess i and all others that wanted the samsung will have to wait thenā€¦

Thanks TK. Any indication of SST tint bin?

Canā€™t way to try the firmware!

My D4 with SST and SC64LE with Samsung emitters are similar in actual use. Trade-off: Samsung is prettier, SST has better throw.

No indication yet. ā€œSST20 4000K 95CRIā€ is the extent of the details Iā€™ve heard.

Iā€™m glad to hear about the SST-20, both because it should avoid further delays with a high-CRI option, and because I think itā€™s a better beam shape for most use cases than the LH351D in a triple (though Iā€™m quite fond of the latter in a reflector).

Nowā€¦ how many of these do I need?

Well, it is BLF, not all will wait. My emitter of choice isn't even offered (Luxeon V ) but I'm sure going to make it.

My emitter choices are long since ordered and arrived and ready to install as soon as the lights get here
