All lights fail in ANY circumstance at ANYTIME. Break down in choice selection is the Engineering Design, build material components, quality control, pricing, etc……

I have done some high impact, and other extreme tests on some of my reviews. I will give insights here.

Sofirn : GREAT

Maglite : WORTHLESS

Bushnell Pro : TOTAL JOKE

Wuben : GREAT

Klarus : GREAT

Thrunite : Decent

Olight : Decent

Fenix : Decent

Powertac : GREAT

SureFire : TOTAL JOKE ( friend gave me the Defender version) Cracked body one it hit hard concrete floor

Plus quite a others. Too long to list.

But to give you basic insight. Just because higher price point DOES NOT MEAN DURABILITY or BETTER QUALITY.

You did what to a Surefire?.
What version of the Defender.
I have eight versions of the Great Defender.
And maybe I don’t have ’em all.
None of ’em will ever hit concrete. They levitate.
They gave you a Chinese fake junk garbage.

Similar to the one pictured. With Surefire prices they charge : Not standing up to my tests at at all. Total JOKE. I would buy Surefire for collecting only. Not field use.

Other brand stood up to better abusive/impact test conditions than Surefire. And at a FRACTION of the cost.

Surefire is A JOKE. Especially the prices they charge. I had a Surefire FAIL while other brands stood up to SAME test guy.

Surefire is WAY BEHIND on my lists FOR SURE. You can TAKE THAT to the bank.

Surefire is very worried that you dislike their illumination devices, I’m sure.

Surefire better be. I spend $1000’s on flashlights. From all companies listed above. Surefire is a JOKE claiming durability. SF FAILED on BASIC impact resistance test. While others PASSED with FLYING COLORS!!! Ha Ha.

Find a cheap floody light, in red anodizing if possible and buy several of them.

S2+ in red.

Again, can swap for a TIR if you want floodier.

Put the light you want in your cart and send him a message with any special requests. I believe he sells TIR optics on his AliExpress store too (I was dumb and forgot to look for/order any when I bought my last S2+) and they are VERY simple to swap out.

I don’t want to fool around with any electronics/led in fear of creating a dangerous issue. The lens is a none issue in terms of danger.

Unless you do something really, really dumb you aren’t going to cause any issues by reflowing an LED or swapping in a new MCPCB. The worst I’ve ever done is fry a driver by shorting a light by having the reflector touch and short the contacts on the board.
