Ty for the reaction. I don’t have any experience modding yet. Which one throws the farthest and do you know any comparable flashlights I should put on my shortlist?

“pocket”? that means a different things to different people…
I think the Lumitop GT mini is better than those, but you did not give a price preference…
I just got a hot rodded version of that, does a great job all the way to 900 feet out
The GT mini is pocketable but I don’t like the way it feel in my pocket because of the shape. I am looking for a flashlight shaped like a S2(+). Price wise I like to look at value. If a more expensive flashlight is worth the premium I’m fine paying more.
For the highest throw possible, I would go with the SST-20 5000k Convoy S2+.
30% more throw compared to the XP-L HI.
If you want comparable throw, but with much higher color quality, go with the SST-20 4000k 95CRI. Color will pop, and will make everything look amazing.

Not without modding, and paying quite the premium.
I’m don’t want a flooder but I would rather have 5m less throw for a significant flooding boost btw.
S2+ XPL Hi has more throw than SP31, but not a whole lot more.
Emisar D1 has notably more throw, but it’s more expensive, too.
There is also D4S, if you are Ok with a 26650 form factor.
With modding and still keeping the price under $100?
I thing the additional width from both D1 and D4S will bother me when I’m wearing jeans. I’m a sensitive guy 
If I did not take the price into account, then I can offer Zebralight SC64w Hi. The perfect compromise in every respect.
This actually has less throw than the XP-L HI and SST-20 Convoy S2+, and even the Sofirn SP31 V2.0.
The S2+ with sst-20… is that the grey one that Neal just came out with? Or was on Banggood I mean?
I think it’s 5000k… I cant remember… Anyway with the Vinh GT mini, the sst20 is on the block…lol

I’m carrying around a Folmov 18650s with a 4000K XP-L HI. Great light but comes with a bad emmiter imo. Modding will be in your near future if you hang out here long. A year ago I was in the dark but I feel I have come a long way since then. Find a light you like and make it better. You can get a lot of help here as well.

Get some “wrangler” jeans. then you can wear in comfort AND carry a C8+ or several other torches in there with room to spare.
I’d just grab the Convoy M2 with XP-L Hi in it. Has the biscotti driver already installed and a nice throwy emitter and SMO reflector. Pick your tint and shine on my friend.
MH20GT? One of the smallest 18650 lights I got, only slightly wider reflector than most tubelights, but emphasis is on throw even vs the regular MH20 (“GT” = “Greater Throw”).
If you don’t want a big-head light like a GTmini or P30, the MH20GT might suit ya.
