[GB has ended] JetuE17A/JetuE21A/Jetusolis

I cannot edit the spreadsheet. Could you please add one JetuE21A 3000K complete build for me?

Jon slider could you possibly get an interest list going at cpf. I know you are a contributor to the tint snob thread there that this light has already been mentioned in. Just a thought….

good idea.

Won’t be in this time, saving money for quad optisolis and triple e21a when the triple will be available, I’m just passing by to encourage people who are more into colors rendition than tint to take the plunge in optisolis 5000-6500k.

I’m not into cool white at all and i’m using high-CRI since long (Seoul ssc-p4 high-cri 4000k (that i’m still using)) so the 6500k optisolis was quite challenging for me, the beam is cool but the colors separation is the best I’ve seen so far. When cool colors and warm colors are side by side, the separation is much better (to my eyes) with the 6500k than with the 5000k, for example when there is orange next to blue.
And the 6500k gives the impression to reveal the true colors “better”, without cheating your eyes and brain, when compared to 5000k. The 5000k enhances warm colors “better” but the 6500k looks more balanced in general with “stunning” blue colors rendition despite warm colors not popping as much as with the 5000k, but warm colors are definitely there.

Sorry for my bad english which doesn’t help to describe my feelings but i really don’t regret the money invested. Definitely not wasted, if only for my personal (high-cri leds) education.

En somme, la plage de couleurs émises par la DEL de couleur de température approximative de 6500k est plus grande que celle ayant une couleur de 5000k.

In summary, the dynamic range of the 6500k Optisolis is higher than the 5000k one.

noboneshotdog and optosolis
thank you for your suggestion, I enjoy breaking the rules over there… LOL

I created a thread at CPF and am dancing around the rules against sharing links.
One post was already deleted by Admin, because it gave a link to this thread

Greta hates it when people buy stuff that she is not making any fees on, so the CPF thread is not an interest list, since that is against the GretaOne’s Rules

what I do instead, is I PM people who show interest, and offer the link to this site…
politics, as usual, over there…

@Tally-ho
thank you for trying to put into words, what I need to see with my own eyes…
I have ordered a 6500k optisolis, because my curiosity is making it impossible to resist

I have never owned any Cool White LED that is High CRI

I understand the 6500k optisolis tint will be green… hoping I dont notice, during the day, when my brain is adapted to sunlight…

some of you may find this image gives food for thought:

fun times!
I love Clemence’s LEDs

@jon_slider, wait, are there fees on selling items on CPF?

If so, uggh.

@BlueSwordM
I dont really want to muck around about forum politics, in this thread,

I will share details by PM if you cant resist knowing more, contact me that way any time… but I suggest not to bother…
Life is too short for bull

suffice to say, we are lucky to be here

and Im looking forward to more great LEDs and builds from Clemence

in fact, Im not so secretly hoping that you will consider Sterling Silver Plating some of the new RRT-01 that Clemence will be building, if they pass his testing…

Maybe you will want to experiment on a JetU first… now That’s and Idea!

I suspect at some point, Clemence will post an interest list for his RRT-01 w E21a and Optisolis
Im using the JetU as a preview to help me choose what LED (s) I will want in some of those…

Oh god.

A silver plated JetuE21A.

That would be so great.

I’m going to try a copper plated TK15 first though.

I’m going to prepare the deanodizing solution first, then the zincate solution, and then next week, after my exams, I will try electroplating the light.

I’m not into silver plating but I bet that would boost the look. I’m more into work finished such as bare aluminum anodization, with fine machining marks. Not failed knurling of course.
If someone has a plasma gun I’m very interested to see possibilities for Nikasil plating. It’s a proven plating for aluminum used for years. Mahle in Germany is one of few companies with extensive Nikasil plating research. All my two stoke racing engines were all Nikasil plated. Tried to chrome plated some of worn blocks but didn’t work very well with chrome plated piston rings.

[Clemence]

The problem with silver plating is that it’s much less durable than nickel plating.
It would look very shiny though.

Also, did you try to plate something with chrome? That doesn’t really seem safe…

To hard chrome plated aluminum you need cyanide solution. Chrome will only stick to copper. You have to deposit copper on aluminum first. Yet its still brittle.
Nikasil is the best for durability since it’s a Silicone carbide particles embedded in ductile nickel layer. It’s more a physical plating, molten nickel and Silicone carbide powder sprayed onto rough aluminum surface.

Updated, thanks!

I bought the jetusolis based of my remember of a comparison beamshots by clemence with a cool white high-CRI nichia but i don’t remember if it was an e21a or an optisolis (I think that he wasn’t selling it yet at this time) but I was really impressed. It was close to the rendition of a photo taken with a flash. I don’t now if those beamshots are still around here : there was a cup of coffee on his wood workbench with several other things on it, an orange tube with a blue topcap, a green tool, …

The optisolis 6500°K tint isn’t green for me, more something like a pale electric blue, maybe with a hint of green, a pale blue slightly greenish. You will notice its particular tint without a doubt. Without this tint it would be perfect but the colors rendition and separation would not be the same without it, most probably.

Never seen this maukka’s tests before but I’m glad that it match my visual impression.

The tint of the 5000°K is more pleasing to my eyes but I really appreciate and prefer the colors separation of the 6500°K which is something new for me concerning high CRI LED.

no green I can see in mine.
then again I have had some wine…

Le CRI70 me rend mal à l’aise même si la teinte me convient. Je me sens déphasé et “color-blinded”, avec l’optisolis 6500k ce n’est pas le cas malgré sa teinte bleu pale. Bon, je ne mettrais pas cela chez moi en éclairage domestique pour autant.

Sorry, can’t translate all this.

google can:

I also dont use cool white at home, I use 3000k Incandescent… @100 CRI…

good points, darksucks offers nickel plated lights… they stay shiny… no tarnish, but also not Oligodynamic like copper, silver, and gold… did somebody mention Gold plating? LOL!

now back to our JetU program

Gold plating would be quite nice, but the gold salts cost would have to be justified by plating a lot of lights.

It was an e21a
