Fireflies E07 preview

Can anyone help with this issue?

I received my Fireflies E07 Friday of last week and it has a strange issue that my Fireflies PL47 has never had:

I will take a video to show you what’s happening but when I ramp up to the top of the ramp (not turbo) the light flickers very heavily and rapidly once it reaches the top of the ramp. This happens if I keep holding the button or if I release the button as soon as it reaches the top of the ramp. The flickering happens most of the time and can last anywhere from 2 - 10 seconds.

It also happens if I save the top of the ramp setting as the memory setting and turn the light off then on again.

Like I said, my PL47 doesn’t have this issue and is totally stable once it reaches the top of the ramp

hm weird… what battery do u use ?

make sure the head is tight screwed if its a bit loose it could explain the flickering maybe or idk ?

Get some 80-90% alcohol and clean any copper parts or non anodized metal (driver ring, tail pcb ring, springs, battery tube ends and finally your battery + and - terminal)

Took me ages to work out i had not checked the No/None accessories.

I receveid my E07 from fireflies webshop, clear anodize, Nichia 219B
Everything is perfect, it’s now my favorite flashlight.
I already have a ROT66 and PL47, everything buy from fireflies website and with Nichia 219B
Nichia 219B is my all time favorite LED for long exposure photography (light painting), it’s great to have 3 flashlights with the same LEDs

Just curious if you compare the 219B tint from this one to your older purchases do they look the same?

Looks the same to me with this rosy tint

Thanks… cleaned it all and it turned out to be the female tailcap. basically turned a tissue jet black after cleaning and she’s functioning tip top now.

Still… I’m kind of surprised I had to thoroughly clean my 3 day old light… lol

It’s pretty easy to transfer stuff to/from batteries, your fingers, grease from threads, oxidation, etc. Your other lights might be dirty too and if they are lower power or different type of driver the problem could manifest itself differently or not at all. I just clean them no matter what. Some people also re-do the grease or apply a thin layer or stuff like this:

I received my EO7 today and noticed something strange. Only two of the aux LED’s on the switch is on. Why is this? See pictures. Help would be appreciated!

If the light was ON during the picture that is how it's supposed to work.

If the light was OFF do this (there is no low/high, only high/off I think):

Aux LEDs / Button LEDs
----------------------

Some lights have aux LEDs or button LEDs. These can be configured to do
different things while the main emitters are off. There is one aux LED
mode for the regular "off" mode, and another aux LED mode for "lockout"
mode. This allows the user to see at a glance whether the light is
locked.

Aux LED modes typically include:

  • Off
  • Low
  • High
  • Blinking

To configure the aux LEDs, go to the mode you want to configure and then
click the button a few times:

  • Off mode: 7 clicks.
  • Lockout mode: 3 clicks.

This should change the aux LEDs to the next mode supported on this
light.

For lights with a button LED, the button LED typically stays on while
the main emitters are on. Its brightness level is set in a way which
mirrors the main LED – off, low, or high.

For lights with front-facing aux LEDs, the aux LEDs typically stay off
when the main emitters are on, and when the light is otherwise awake.
The aux LEDs on most lights only turn on when the light is asleep.

The light was off in the picture. When I turn the light on, the aux/switch LED’s turn off. There’s only an on/blinking/off option in the settings. Only two LED’s on the switch. https://photos.app.goo.gl/adtzmA91pPf58etz5
There’s a picture of the light when on and the UI sheet that came with the light.

If 7 clicks while off doesn’t fix it then it’s probably a wire has come loose

Do you know if the driver is glued? I don’t see a retaining ring…

Just my rotten luck.

Anybody here place an order recently and get DHL shipping? How long did it take before the tracking number was active?

I selected DHL, and got a shipping confirmation the day after I placed the order, but after 2 days, it’s still not trackable. The DHL tracking number is also different from other DHL tracking numbers I’m familiar with; it has the format “L##########D,” but usually they are just numbers, I think. Since DHL Express is a 2-3 day service from other countries, it seems like it should be at least trackable by now. Is it a Chinese holiday?

Edit: OK, so today I got a text message from DHL informing me that a package was just sent. Totally different tracking number, although it is the same package. I placed the order Sunday night, got the shipping confirmation Monday afternoon, and it’s now Thursday.

have published some pictures in the german forum:

It seems that you can only view the thumbnails unless you are a member of TLF. Can you just post here too?

OK, just posting an update. It’s Tuesday, April 16th, I got my E07 a little earlier, and as of right now, it looks good, appears to function normally, and has no obvious flaws with aux LEDs, as others have reported. I ordered it when the website said it was the second production run. The QC stamp on the box is dated February 15, 2019. I have no way to confirm if it has the correct amount of thermal paste and don’t feel like unscrewing it at the moment. Overall, I really like it. This has the Nichia 219b emitters. Very nice amount and quality of light. Edit: Just played with it in the back yard at night and WOW, what a beautiful effect that pinkish tint has on the budding trees this time of season. Lots of heat generated very quickly, though. I spent about 20 minutes playing with the dog, shining the light into the woods on turbo periodically, and when I came in, the battery was at 4.1 volts, which seems pretty good to me.

It took a total of 8 days from order to when I should have received it (there was one extra day because the DHL driver had it on his truck yesterday but didn’t drop it off until today), which is a good turnaround. In reference to my comment above, the initial tracking number that Jacky sent out, which had the format “L########D” was in fact on the inner box, but DHL also gave the package a second tracking number, attached to a plastic wrapper around that box, which I didn’t get until I started getting SMS updates about tracking. I assume that the first tracking number is internal to China, since it was useless for DHL’s international site.

For the new updated version they should add usb c charging, this should be standard…cant be that expensive to add ?
I gladly pay 10 dollars extra for it

I would pay 15 extra for USB charge version. Would be eve. Better if it can function as power bank like the TO56R or Rofis MR50, MR30. Great for taking on trips
