*BLF LT1 Lantern Project) (updated Nov,17,2020)

Please put me down for one then. Thanks!

DBSAR is specifications in OP correct and final?

That looks great DBSAR!! :+1:

Is there an O-ring or seal where the bottom of the globe meets the body?

What will the firmware be?

Awesome Den, thanks for posting. We may have this before camping season yet!!

@ChibiM, it’ll be using a special variant of Anduril with tint mixing.

Oh WOW! It looks great! I’m ready! Take my money!

Nice to see a prototype!

One concern that may be only lightly relevant for such a functional thing as a lantern: as innovative as it is, the design looks rather dull to me, especially the top half looks a bit boring and maybe a bit cheap, it could use some bling. Is there still an option for a small styling change at this point?
I suggest either to add some of the knuring to the cap section too, to make it in style with the bottom section, and/or add some fins on top.

Pretty much for now until i can receive the prototype build sample to run a full testing on to make sure its in the specifications, there may be some minor adjustments or tweaks before the production one is ready to go.

I’m okay with it the way it is now. It looks pretty good to me. But yeah, it would look better if that top piece had knurling that matched the lower body. :+1:

I DON’T want fins on the top though. :confounded:

Knurling could be a possibility for the production model.

If they want to do ‘knurling’ on that top piece, they might have to cut it instead of using the knurling tool, because the sides are angled, not perfect cylinders. If they changed it to cylinders, it could be done with the knurling tool and would look pretty good, IMHO.

Put me in for one, thx.

As long as it doesn’t delay this any longer. Personally, I don’t care about knurling, since you can’t see it anyway when in use.

Somewhere I recall seeing some bling that could be laser engraved in that area…

…oh yeah! Now I remember:

I would probably be wrapping the top edge & lower section with paracord for my personal uses, and likely cover up the knurling in some cases.

Yes! i nearly forgot that too. The logo could be etched on each side of the top head, (180 degrees around)

The prototype looks amazing, can’t wait to see a full video about it. And we definitly need that logo somewhere on it, but maybe we should also add some fins to the upper section depending on the temperature. And what are these silicon pieces left and right of the usb port good for? Do they just cover screws or are some sort of charging indicator LEDs underneath them?

We’ve discussed about it with Barry, and these are LED indicators for charging.

The reason for using them is that they are more water resistant than using the regular, and most importantly, they are easier to put it compared to multi-LEDs in the main switch, and obviously, this is to make it to easy if it is charging or not, a better method compared to the SP36.

This is looking sick. I’m glad it’s almost ready! Between this and the fw3a I need to get my wallet ready lol. Keep up the good work! (Also is there any news on the LEDs, temperature and cri being used?)
