100% agree, in fact the black clip is probably enough for me to not buy this light now, far out Lumintop, just stick to what we signed up for ffs

Yes its weird they make such changes since the community havent asked for it really, but again they make the light so they feel the can do whatever they want really. Not much to do really, just accept it for what it is really.

We don’t know what order the images are in though – I’m going to wait for the next confirmed images (from the three reviewers who have been sent lights) before casting aspersions.

true but i dont expect any more changes now, since the hole on the clip is also visible on the boxes its safe to say it more or less is the final design but time will tell..

I agree, but I guess what I’m getting at is that we don’t know when the photos Max got were taken; for all we know they could either be taken 5 minutes before he posted them, or a month before – I know he was sent them by Neal.

I’m going to assume that the lights being sent to the three are the “final” edition, so I’ll jjst put this to the back of my mind until then, and work on finding a good use for my sw45k’s when they arrive.

Most browsers should remember all the tabs you had open and reopen after a crash.

Black clip with the hole looks much worse .

Why would Lumintop change something that looked great and was a non issue . There was virtually no negative feedback on the question of the clip ..again changing something last minute is about as stupid as you can get .

Normally I avoid these threads because they make me crazy .

No reason for this at all ...

I’m still not convinced it is as ‘black’ as it ‘appears’ in this picture. And I don’t think it is painted either. That is my story & I’m sticking to it…. Innocent

I didn’t think the clip was removable….

This was the last (?) info we got about that. So…the 3 testers will probably be able to tell us more about that.
I will not enter the colour/anodization/whatever discussion as I will decide what to do with that later!

ToyKeeper wrote:
No, the clip is not reversible. Not really, anyway. But it might be removable if the tail isn’t glued.

This is as close as it gets to being reversible:

It does not fit at the head end, and even if it did, inserting the clip between the head parts would interfere with the light’s operation.

Ah yes, that’s right. I think my brain latched onto the “if the tail isn’t glued” and not the image part of it.

Wow, that really puts into perspective how poorly the new clip fits.

That clip in the most recent picture looks chrome plated to me, not black.

The pics of earlier prototypes that show the clip’s retaining ring sitting flush with the body of the light.

I believe that Scallywag is talking about this:

The latest black clip protrudes beyond the FW3As body while the silver one does not.
The ugly hole – meh. Can live with it. The ugly paint job – rather disappointing. But this… this is a dealbreaker for me Facepalm Crying

You’re right, it is not. They won’t send out these nice flashlights with such poorly fitting clips I don’t think. Hopefully.

Where are Luminotop’s comments on this topic?
If they have changed the boundary conditions, they need to give some explanation.

How do they understand exactly what they have to do and are they committed to not depart from the assignment?

Sorry if I missed some answers…

A lot of energy and time are invested in this product.
I made a simple bill:
(8526 post here) x (5 minutes per post) = about 90 working days just for posts.
The time spend for reading can’t be calculated… !!!

This simple calculation should oblige the contractor to strictly observe the desire of the forum.
Or give a reasoned opinion of the changes…

That is exactly what I was referring to. Nice picture!

I honestly don't know if I'd buy the light with the clip that bad. Or I might just get one, instead of two. Fixing that will just be a pain in my tail-switch.
