I went to bed at midnight last night. My Spidey sensors mustāve felt a disturbance in the force because I woke up around 4am (about an hour after PMās started) and found my message
Thanks TK. Do you still not have a donation account set up?
I have not been able to find out what bins they are using. Hopefully Kawiboy or Tom gets theirs before its necessary for me to order my lights.
They are really good at quick tear downs and thorough reviews. Toykeepers reviews are just as good but after bunnygate, clipgate and the mad rush to order lights that arenāt going to ship right away and will take weeks to deliver her enthusiasm may be a bit low.
Whenās the last time a big light order happened here and the first batch was as good as the second batch?
That probably depends how the switch works. But how about either scenario? Will electroncis be damaged? Is there a fire risk since the 18650 has to be unprotected to fit?
Iāve just never seen electronics isolated only by an ano layer. Maybe they are both negative signals so it will just turn the light on or off when the switch circuit is closed to ground?
Iām also a bit surprised the two tint choices are 3000k and 5000k 70CRI. I was really hoping for a 4000k 90CRI but Iāll still buy one to use as a host for LH351D.
The light looks great and I am excited about the firmware.
Iām not sure. I asked Neal, and heās still figuring out the details for that.
However, he says the SST-20 version will be $30 for people in the group buy. He just hasnāt figured out when it will be available to purchase, or how exactly the process will work.
I donāt have an FW3A, but I have modded a Sipik 58 a couple times to use a very similar connection scheme for a tailcap switch.
Short answer: If the anno is damaged and there is a direct short from the inner sleeve to the exterior body tube, the effect is the same as holding the button down permanently. Meaning the light would ramp up to max ramp and stay there.
On the up side there really isnāt any reason to remove the inner sleeve. So there shouldnāt be a lot of rubbing or friction. Chances of it getting damaged and shorting assuming it works out of the box are probably pretty low.
I finally made a donation thing. The link is in my signature where it says āPatreonā.
To be clear though, itās a donation thing for me. I donāt know how to contact a lot of the original team, so I havenāt attempted to set up a team donation system.
I have a strip of tape around the inner tube in all my earlier FW3A prototypes, because it was required to make the light reliable. However, I havenāt had any of those issues with the new production sample. It looks like the issues there were finally fixed.
