Nitecore TIP2

Anyone with this Nitecore “DEMO” mode stuff can comment if long press for ON and 30s “DEMO” mode shut off is a good enough substitute for not having a lockout? My current EDC is a UltraTac K18 Mini. It has a lockout and replaceable battery so not sure I want to even consider this but who knows. I could be convinced IF it’s moddable

Meeeh very nice project but I don’t like that demo modes in my NC TINI, it was turned ON by mistake many times in my pocket :frowning:
I prefer dual button lockout like in my old TIP CRI

MSRP looks to be $45

Here’s the manual pdf Tip2 manual

I try to stay positive but that cover is looking janky. Covers like that have a tendency to disappear. Maybe there will be something functional or different about this one.
Not sure if the cover or the tail of the light is magnetic.
Demo mode works great with the Tini if you wear it around your neck, not so much for pocket carry.
Battery is 500 mAh so just looking for something to set this one apart.
Time will tell!

The tail is magnetic, the cover stays with the keychain. 5 pounds of force isn’t that much let’s say taking your keys out of your jeans pocket and the tip 2 gets stuck on the pocket lip.

Hopeful for a high cri version

Where the heck is a group buy here for this!? :stuck_out_tongue:

Strange wording for a normal smooth reflector.

It would be strange wording if it had a reflector, but it’s the correct wording for the TIR shown in the images.

1s will do the trick. Camera has good ISO nowadays.

And there is always the Exposure slider in PhotoShop.

Is there a photo? The renderings I saw lock like a normal reflector.

Ugh - a magnetic tail makes this light a no-go for me. I have to carry too many magnetic key cards to risk carrying this light. That’s a shame - it looks like a nice upgrade to the original, otherwise.

I think it looks great ...

Would be nice if they had incorporated some type of locking mechanism once you engage the magnet end to the body, just seems like it can be lost too easily this way, hopefully it isnt an issue, looks like a nice light.

Charging time:

- in English and other languages manuals - 1.45 Hrs

  • in Russian manual - 3.5 Hrs
    Where is mistake?

In Soviet Russia, flashlight charge you!

In Soviet Russia it’s an atomic battery by default))

I don’t like it.

And it’s crazy that there are so many manufacturers and nobody was able to make a good keychain light yet.

Acebeam came close with the UC15 but messed it up with the UI.
