Sofirn SF11 led slightly lit when turned off.

Just noticed my emitter is still on, but less bright than moon mode with the SF11. Have not used it for a couple of weeks so it must have been on all that time. Is there a known way to force it to turn off?

When mine (twin) was misbehaving, I “fixed” it by slapping it around some.

No, I’m not kidding.

I've banged it around a little but still on. Can't see any retaining ring in there, just the star on a tall aluminum casting that can slide up and down from the driver inside the tube. Good thing is that after a couple of weeks, green light is on when turning it on so battery drain must be really low.

Maybe the “leaky FET” problem other people were having with other lights?

Could be. Might just leave it the way it is as the drain is so low that it's almost not worth thinking about I guess.

Think of it as a weird lighted-tailcap…

Yeah. Much dimmer than moon mode but you could call it stealth as it barely lights up anything in a dark room, but just enough to move around if one was on their hands and knees. If I ever need to escape some raving lunatic in a forest at night, I'll know which light to grab.

The one mounted to a 12ga?

Sofirn seems to be having bunch of quality issues lately.

might want to make sure you dont have a leaking battery.
had a leaker in an s2+ cause the same tiny glow when off.
had to tear it apart and clean it up.
and this was a 30q that was 3 months old.
had a tiny ding in the seal area.

Hello,

What type of led should i buy to replace the sofirn sf11 led emitter? Mine came off along with flashlight bezel. Maybe someone know exact PCB diameter.

Thanks.

My SF11 LED also came off when I unscrewed the bezel. It was not properly soldered on. I added a bit of solder paste and reflowed it with my hot air station.

Mine stopped glowing today so somehow it worked itself out.
