Sofirn SP70 Alone $50, PM for AMZ US CODE(LIMITED)

10,500 is the most I’ve ever seen from an XHP-70.2… and this is with my lightbox calibrated and diffused so the meter reading is actual numbers, I really feel like my meter is showing a little low but it’s where I wound up with 6 diffusion panels, the Maukka calibration lights were almost spot on, but low on the S2+ even if only a little.

I get 253.25Kcd at start and 236.75Kcd at 30 seconds on the meter at a 5M reading.

This is on the box, sorry, I guess I flipped the i8 to landscape AFTER I started the video. Technology sometimes eludes me…

My light has a centering ring.

Mine arrived 1 week ago with the standard (non-HD) batteries.
I was thinking of ordering a couple HD’s - as I understand that will increase the output a bit.

If there is a BLF version in the works, I would just wait for that light.

So the question is - when might the BLF version might be available?

TIA

Let the obsession begin. Again.

I’ve been trying to get the code via PM for the last few days. I wonder if they are out of the office?

Yes they are.

Thank you!

Disappointing news for the Sofirn 26650 HD cells.

Measured at 30 second with my calibrated lumen tube - 4970 lumens

So much for their 6800 lumen measurement they stated with these

You sure they are even the right ones?

Yes, they have the 5000mAh 25A wrapper and have the new button top

Fully charged?

Yeah, they’re charged to 4.20v and checked again with my DMM.

I’ll test them later with my CBA because it seems they’re discharging unevenly. After 30 sec they were 4.14v and 4.18v

Please provide some context.
How many lumens do a different set of high drain batteries produce? What other cells do you have?

After bypassing the springs with 20awg I get 5900 at 30 sec.

I’ll charge up a couple 30Q’s as that’s the best I have

Ok what?

5900 lumens is nothing like we would expect.

Would be really sad if you got dud 26650s, and the 30Qs get around 8000 lumens.

I have another SP70 that should be here either tomorrow (Fri) or Monday so I can check with those cells.

Sooooo I just noticed one cell has a dent on the negative and the nipple pressed in  I’m guessing this is causing the low numbers. I think Jason had this happen awhile back.

I’ll add some solder and report back. If this is the cause I’ll edit my original comment

Oh I’m relieved.

Good luck on it.

Decided not to solder and use a neodymium magnet but that made no difference.

My tracking updated to show my other SP70 is due tomorrow.

One of my cells also has a dented bottom. It’s a consequence of shipping big cells in series. When the box gets dropped or thrown around, the 2 cells slam into each other. I don’t think it would effect it’s performance. My HD cells pull slightly less amperage than my Black Liitokala’s.

As far as lumens, my L6 with Aspire 4300 measured 5500 lumen at turn on (19.6A) and 5250 at 20 seconds (18.4A).

With black Liitokala it measured 5300 lumen at turn on and 5100 at 20 seconds (17.6A).

This is with my Maukka calibrated TA Lumen Tube. I don’t know how some guys get these big lumen numbers.

I’ll try to measure the SP70 lumens tomorrow.

At the end of the day the SP70 is much better than the Convoy L6 so I’m happy. Purchased 7pcs to sell. Don’t think I’ll be getting anymore L6’s now unless Simon changes the UI.

The 30Q’s only achieved 100 more lumens totaling 6000 at 30 sec
