Now THIS is big: Keygos? 7 x XML and 3 x 26650 IMR

Tell him to do this:

Marc.

I was the fat kid in school, and bullied. Both primary and high school.

It didn't last too long, though. I'm a big pacifist, but I do react when pushed. I was usually second tallest in my class.

When I reacted a few times it became clear it's not worth to bully me.

In high school I was usually the smart one, the one who had his homework and knew most of the answers on exams and tests. The bullies learned quite quickly it's better for them to have me as a friend than an enemy. I never had to fight in high school.

Getting the 7xXM-L Keygos and having your kid take it anywhere amongst bullies is a bad idea. Having your kid learn karate or jiu-jitsu or some other martial arts is a good idea. Teach him to react and cause non-permanent harm to the bullies. Usually puts them off quite efficiently. And not to go overboard. Don't initiate, but react and disable.

That's just my humble opinion.

Back on topic.

I love the looks of that beast, but I think I'd never need to carry that for anything practical. It might be interesting for the wow factor, but in my opinion, too much money just to dazzle someone for whatever period of time.

Yeah solowanderer, on second thoughts the getting the 7 x XM-L light is not a good idea. The light has a big fat hotspot which makes aiming easy. But still at below 30k cd intensity, you really need point blank distance of < 0.5m to really temporary blind anyone. Bad idea... LOL! :D

Anyway, just joking. Yes if he is going to be in constant bad company, learning self-defence is a good idea. MMA or Muay thai is good.

Yeah solowanderer i have to agree with every one else, not the kind of torch you take to school camp to bright even the TR-3T6 and the TR-J12 are way to bright, i can only see trouble coming from that, it will be take off him and some one will end up with eye damage or the torch its self will be damaged even the batteries can cause series damage if not looked after, hell i don't even let some adults use my torches cause they are just to bright even the back glare come from the beam when pointed forward can be enough to hurt your eyes.

I would hold off on the torch and revenge idea and maybe aim for some thing cheaper and more user friendly, if it helps i will be doing some quick reviews on a couple of torches that are priced from $16 to $44 usd and you can use normal off the self AA batteries or use the charger battery kit that comes with the most costly one, in the next week or so, more starter torch kits that will still blow any one away with the brightness who has not seen these high powered led torches .

As for being hastled from the kids at school and camp, its no good but i think all of us have been there in some form or another over the years, i don't really have any good advice, as the advice that was given to me at the first year of school got me in a load of trouble, i was told if some one hits you hit them back (i do not give my daughter this advice) and if it was me i would single out the bigest meanie and take him out hard and fast, if your able to drop the bigest bullies first up the rest will leave you alone, it does not always work and some times its the other way round, but its a quick way to earn respect, they either will leave you alone if you win or think your nuts if you don't.

Seller confirmed to me the bezel is 55.5 mm = 2.185". It's not wide enough for 7 xml!

My money is on the light not working with the batteries supplied

Could you elaborate? Couldn't the LEDs just be more tightly grouped?

Incoming.. Just some days more. Can't wait.

I was bullied 24-7 and had no recourse. (1970's) School administration was of no help. I finally started to pack and almost shot one kid and finally got left alone. No support at home either. Continued on into work life. Finally got so I couldn't work any more, and 15 psychiatric hospital stays later, had to quit in 04 and wound up on permanent disability-the damage was done.

I share this because I don't want anyone to have to go through the same thing. Only now in my 50's am I starting to make peace but I still want 'em all dead in hell.

It is very serious-be a support and for God's sake and his, get him into a self-defense course and tear into the right people to make it stop!

If I had shown up with a bigger torch, I'd have had it taken from me in short order, or stolen. I would strongly suggest that you don't go that route-he'll get bullied more.

I don't mean to hijack, but I can't keep quiet on this. I don't have kids and no way I would. I'd be the guy going to the bully's house with a shotgun.

7 T6 XML led squeezed in 2.185" bezel is no good. It's not wide enough. Initially I thought it was seller has made a mistake on the specs, therefore I sent a message to ask if it was true! I'm very interesting to this light & now have to wait reviews to make my decision.

Just got my today

the head is 70mm not 55mm (J12 62cm)

much less power consumption than J12 in all 5 modes even with 2 more XM-L

5 minutes on high not even warm (J12 getting quite hot in 5 minutes)

brighter with 3 cells

shorter than J12

pretty much the same brightness as J12 (on high)

ได้ไวจริงๆ 555

Can you get a reading at the tail and see how much power it uses?

Thanks for the information!

Measured or by eye?

You seriously are over-parenting your kids - I’m 17 myself and my parents don’t mind my little collection of lights, never did (or even thought of doing) any silly stuff with them, such as blinding people, car drivers etc. :stuck_out_tongue:

I think you missed my point. :)

They are not flashaholics (at least not yet) and not interested in checking / matching cell voltages. Giving them a multi cell light would simply be too dangerous.

Edit: Let me rephrase: Giving a multi cell light to anyone not interested in checking voltages would be too dangerous. (IMHO)

parenting advice from a 17 year old...lmao

Well, I’m pretty sure I know better what people of my age are like than ones who are way above my age

Also that wasn't a parenting advice ;)
