So, I’m picturing something like a shrunken SP70. Wider hotspot at the cost of some throw? I’d definitely be down with that.

Much wider hotspot, and way less throw compared to the SST-40 version.

The XHP70.2 has a massive die compared to the SST-40.

Will this light be also running on NarsilM or anything else ATTiny85 based?

As far as I know the ATTiny85 based drivers are for 3V emitters only.
So, no.

No, no no -- I have NarsilM running on several 6V LED lights, of course. Even my super S88 clone 16X XHP50 light at 35K lumens runs on NarsilM.

The "LDO" SMD part is the key, used in place of the D1 diode, and we got several BLF designed drivers using it. Also, looks at the Astrolux and Haikelite 6V lights NarsilM runs on, with drivers designed by TA.

I personally have had no problem whatsoever running a FET+1 with a single XHP70.2, but if you take 3 of them in parallel, amps gets way up, and I've gone thru killing several 7135's in those configurations, which is why TA went with a totally different approach with the high amp lights - doesn't use a 7135.
