I don’t yet own any LED lanterns. I’m more excited about the LT1 than any other BLF project I’ve watched develop since I joined about 3 years ago.
I hope the prototype’s arrival works into your trip schedule. I really enjoyed the photos from your other trips with your early prototypes.
I’m sure you’re hoping for excellent results, but be sure to do the water intrusion and drop tests toward the end!

I figure by the time I finally get my two lanterns, I’ll have my custom trailer ready for bicycle touring.
(Getting my middle-aged body ready, that’s a whole other matter)
How long is the tour, blinded by the light?
I plan to use it for area lighting when I have to work nights on some cabling/construction jobs… Right now my trusty BLF Q8 is doing a decent job (assisted by a Nitecore HC65 on my head):
The search for a better light started with the Nitecore once I broke my Walmart 3xAAA cheapie headlamp (or I’d probably have a Zebralight or Skillhunt up there instead), evolved into a Q8 (possibly paired with a diffuser), and then I found the LT1 and joined BLF.
I now have a Mini-mag nichia triple (built it myself), a 3D Mag with an XHP70.2 (also built by me), 2 Convoys, FW3A, Nitecore HC65, Wowtac A2 (WIP: driver and emitter swap. going to flash Anduril next), and the Q8…. I’m sure my wife thinks I’m a super dork. She has had enough of talking about drivers, CCT/CRI, and dogfarts… I’m looking forward to throwing the LT1 on a tripod and lighting everything up on those long dark nights.

I have a perfectly serviceable LED lantern at home.
It’s also perfectly annoying, as it’s cheap plastic and runs on 3 D cells. Who just happens to have an odd number of D cells on hand? And, for as often as it gets used, it’s probably going to suffer battery leakage before the current batteries are depleted.
I expect the LT1 to be a much higher quality thing that I don’t use enough to really justify having it. 
I’ll put one on top of my fridge for power outages and one in my preps so I can see what’s happening when the world ends. I just couldn’t bear to face the apocalypse in the dark.
Camping, a ‘get to the front door’ light during back yard bonfires, and having a quality power outtage option in the living room for the wife and kiddo.
Never owned a lantern in my life, not sure if I would need one? I am not really into camping or stuff like that. But the BLF lantern is surely the most luxurious one out there?
My wife bought a couple of blowup solar LED lanterns for camping. They work well for background ambient light while camping, but reading is near impossible. This will be an adjunct to those lights, and also be backup lighting to our 2nd home where the electrical company can’t keep the electricity going regularly.
Being doing BBQ almost once a week. Would be great to have it at the table when it gets dark.
I been using the original V1 & V2 prototypes for exactly that too, and around the patio or backyard campfire after dark.

Camping. Room lighting. I really want lots of optisolises on mine. Maybe we can start badgering clemence into making mcpcb for that.

Mine will mostly be my bedside table reading lamp, but I’ve been through 2 floods and 4 Hurricane’s so I’m pretty sure I’ll be using it for power outages too.
This needs to be a Working King though and not a Shelf Queen.

Being in Florida, between our crappy power grid and hurricane season, I’ve been looking for a quality lantern for a while now. I also love camping and being outdoors, so it’ll get taken on trips frequently too. Also, I work backstage a lot during stage productions, so having a dimmable, controlled light with long run times could be really handy too.
