I don't think so as this one uses white, red and UV independently. I don't think it would look good to mix these. ;-)
However, Barry I would be interested how far the design process for this triple independent emitter light is completed already. Is the last word spoken already or can we (BLF) still give you some suggestions to improve it? Those tiny reflectors could be enlarged like the ones in your C8F triple reflector.
Will you offer the driver separately for sale?
Will this driver fit into the C8F 21700 host?
Can you please check if it makes sense to offer a C8F 21700 with white, red and UV? I think that would sell well, too.
Any news about the AT35 prototype? I hope this one will still be produced.
The Beam Shaper might be copyrighted technology that Sofirn is not even aware of. Is it even real or just theory and computer animation? What are the down sides, big losses in lumens? We don’t know, but it’s a cool idea.
Hi Barry, I have some suggestions about your recent flashlight launches (e.g. SD05, SP70) that use Sofirn's UI instead of Andúril/NarsilM.
Maybe you can forward and discuss them with your engineering team? I'm sure these updates will not be too hard to implement but they will certainly make your successful flashlights even more successful and more popular.
Please remove timer-triggered stepdowns from future drivers/flashlights. I do not see any reason to have both thermal and timed stepdowns at the same time.
Please allow a user defined choice of ATR thresholds (e.g. 45°C, 55°C, 65°C) just like HaikeLite did with their SC26
Thermal protection setting can be accessed by 10xclicks:
The light flashes once => turn it off to select 45 degree step-down temperature
The light flashes twice => turn it off to select 55 degree step-down temperature
The light flashed 3 times => turn it off to select 65 degree step-down temperature
Eventually, Sofirn can make 45°C as the default setting that will allow a safe and comfortable usage while flashoholics, experts, evangelists and enthusiasts can raise the threshold to a higher value they deem more reasonable, maxing out the full potential of Sofirn's powerhouse flashlights like SP70, Q8 and SP36. There will not be any trade off for customers who prefer a simpler UI than Andúril or NarsilM as they still get the chance to push their flashlights (and skin :-D ) to their very limits.
I’d like to see a single emitter light like the SP32A V2 but with Anduril. Seems like it’d just need a driver upgrade.
Sofirn’s stock UI’s usually keep me from buying their lights. I just got the SP36 BLF Anduril and it’s awesome. I even defeated sofirn’s favorite glue to get the driver out and flash the latest firmware build.
Fitting an E21A in a commercial flashlight requires some skilful designing: you can not use a centering piece because the led is small, shallow and fragile, the force of the reflector via the centerpiece easily kills the led. And still the small E21A requires precise centering, even in a reflector as small as in the SC31. I have not seen a commercial solution for that yet.
