Review: KD 7135 V2 drivers 3040/2280/1520 mA with mode configuration

I just ordered a completely custom modes driver. Almost nothing of the original modes remained in my spec.

At first they told me I'll have to make a 500pcs order. I asked if I can have at least 2 sets of modes custom and said I'd buy 5-10pcs. They told me that they can make my full custom modes version (and quoted it exactly) if I just buy 5 to 10 pieces and send order number.

Paid 5pcs today, sent the order number, they replied 1 hour later (actual e-mail reply to the same conversation) and said that my order is being processed.

Looks good so far. I'll send updates on how this goes. :)

How about updating us NOW on the modes you requested

+1

Do you really want to get your hopes up and then get disappointed when I get the regular driver? :D

Hey!

I didn't say no, did I? :)

Here is a quote from Kural.

Now, I have no idea if anyone else should order custom as well. I did tell them that if all goes well I'd be telling my friends and they will get more orders.

I'm the crash test dummy again. If anyone orders, please tell me about it. Perhaps PM me and I'll tell you my order number so you can quote it if you want the same thing.

Beacon2 is sweet. I would love that.

What I do is grind or file the tip down to a longer narrower point with a slight curve or hook and retin it. This allows me to get in around the other chips. A magnifying lamp REALLY helps.

Hooray for you. The difference between having and knowing how is doing.

For those with a too large solder iron: wind some copper wire around the tip.

do you have any news? i am interested in ordering as well :)

Yup, arrived yesterday!

I got 5 pcs, one already in a flashlight, and that one works almost as expected.

Will post more info in the next few days.

Thanks to victori, I contacted KD with my own request and they said it should be fine, send them an order number of 5ea of these drivers and they will look into modifying them... I requested:

1. Original setup

2. Original setup

3. High - Low2 (10%)

4. Low2 (10%) - High

5. High - Low2 - Strobe

6. Low2 - High - Strobe

7. High - Med (30%) - Low (5%)

8. Low (5%) - Med (30%) - High

This should give me unlimited possibilities of modding for XPG at full power, XML at full power (by default) and adding 4 more chips for total of 4.5A for Triple XPG or Nichia... Should be awesome if they fulfill my request... fingers crossed... If they do, I know I'll never buy any other linear driver as this would cover for everything... :-)

I still wonder what microcontroller they use...

that are great news :) looking forward to your information

Same here.....

It would be nice to see this driver be able to handle using a single primary 123 battery. I don't know what would need changing in order to have that happen....it looks more specifically suited for 3.7v not 3.0v.

Can anyone spread some "light" on that for me? (pun intended :) )

got 2 of these drivers I ordered awhile ago..they flashed them so my modes are ~3a, ~1.35a, ~.070a..awesome spacing...

Thank you for the info viktori . It's good to know they also flash them custom

Question : Has anyone tried giving a good tap to the flashlight that has one of theese drivers installed?

I recently bought two KD 6x7135 V2 LED Driver 2280mA , I've installed them in two UltraFire XM-L T6 WF-504B , used different settings , and if I tap anyone of them while on High Mode, it automaticaly goes to Medium Mode, the memory mode S1 brige is connected so even if the battery would disconnect for a fraction of a second it wouldn't have to do this. I've noticed this odd thing because I'm using them on my bicycle...

yes mine switches too if I hit it..a solution is to snug up the battery with tape or cardboard shims and/or adding a small standard p60 spring to the existing spring..I had to add springs to the old 105c drivers because the stock ones wouldn't contact the battery..i'll have to do the same thing to these drivers..

here is a link to pictures of what I did with the extra spring..the copper wire was left as it was more hassle to remove it than to just leave it..
