i know its tooo long

and the long grass in front of the camera are bad too

but i was trying to be consistent with my other videos and give a useful comparison to other lights at first.

-> the glamour shots will definately follow ;)

Wow. You got two big one in one package… congrats.

I meant adds to the depth of the review, not in a bad way. I don’t think it was too long, it covered a lot, thank you!

would be very helpful if you subscribe to the channel ;)

So, the MS18 is using a FET driver.

Finally got mine:

pwm!!!

What is this, the MS18 or the R90ST?
Edit.
I understand that it is the MS18.

Did you buy one and take it apart or are these pics from someone else?

It’s very interesting. I don’t think anyone has posted pics of the older MS12 internals so to see the newer MS18 is nice.

Martin, great review video comparing all the big boys.

To those who have received these lights,
Is user able to open the fan frame and replace the fan? And is the fan really effective in blowing out hot air?

No, they put glue on the screws..

the fans do a good job to move the air imho

its soft, black silicone

but the fan frame stays in position

Ok, I thought it was glue!

Are you sure it's black silicone?
I thought it was just transparent?

yes

similar to the stuff i used to detect if anyone opened my anesthesia or Xray units so i was able to deny warranty

Ok, that could be it as well. Just assumed it was glue :)

I had assumed they made the fans easily replaceable by the customer in case one of them should stop working. Imalent could simply send a new fan to the customer which they could easily change as opposed to the customer having to ship their light all the way back to China and then ship it back to the customer again. Is this not the case?

I think it’s fine if the fans are good quality type. I don’t remember having to replace my CPU fan which was on 24hr for years. These two fans are on in short interval.

Imalent has made 1000 watts 100k lumens stock light. Don’t think they would allow user to open and repair it easily as that could be dangerous.

This light and it’s fans are supposed to handle water immersion. CPU fans don’t.

The fans should also be low voltage, so no real safety concerns.

Knowing that the fans are still not easily swapped (I thought the MS18 fixed this issue) my opinion of the design has gone down greatly. It is unfortunate.

It is rated IP56 so it is not submersible.
