Sofirn C01S SST-20 4.000K 95CRI / Low-High version available again!

Yeay! happy dance

Just received 2 parcels…one from Sofirn and one from Nkon and all are flashlights

Haven’t opened them yet, they look so pretty in their wraps

Edit: nah…can’t wait that long…I opened it and wow! Loving everything about it…the tint, the finish, how it turns smooth.

The hardest part is now to replace my old friend Fenix E01 with this one on my keychain…I’m not ready to do that yet

Very nice light. I wasn’t sure about the unfinished aluminum when ordered but seeing it and holding it, it’s great for this light. No worries about the finish getting scratched or chipped and it is very grippy in the hand. Twisty is very smooth also. Mine is not greased though. I used it checking some materials on a shuttle trailer at the warehouse. The modes are great - L/H and the lumen output on each seems just right - very simple. The beam profile and tint are to my liking also. My only problem is that I didn’t get two or three. Now I just need to get a magnet and a trit.

Thanks for this BLF Special Edition!

It’s here

Looks fantastic in raw aluminium. You can see all the machining marks, especially on the tail. Beam is very focused for an AAA light; im surprised. I really like the tint. Mode spacing is indeed low - high

jealous that you got them. maybe this afternoon after work…

Edit: Never mind, just saw Djozz’ (much) earlier post.

Not sure if anyone realised but these are super easy to perform emitter / optic swaps on.

I know that this is what ones do here - but from what I’m seeing, I can’t imagine why.

For me it’s great in stock form… I could imagine others wanting to make it floodier or put in a warmer emitter though. 3000k SST-20s in particular.

 all is great, love it!

Did Sofirn ever make a Low-High version? Thought that was in the works at some point. Doesn’t bother me too much, just thought it would be more practical.

That is what this BLF C01S edition is — L to H and not anodized.

And sold out already, they made only 200 of these :frowning:

Ok…. so I know what I said earlier but I can’t help it :person_facepalming:

…turned it into a floody mule using the plastic insert and AR glass from a lumintop tool; waterproof and just as floody as the original C01!

A well done and useful mod!

(although I very much like the hotspot of the stock TIR lens)

awesome job! More info about the plastic insert /mod please?

It’s set up exactly as it is stock, except with a glass lens to keep it waterproof. The TIR optic is within the plastic insert (I assume to reflect light that escapes the optic) so all I had to do was remove the optic and add a lens.

Wait … so, stock it’s not waterproof? Didn’t know that.

It is waterproof in stock form; the o ring presses against the optic. When I removed the optic I had to have a lens to seal the front

Ok - that makes sense.

is no more blf lights planned ?

No, but who knows that can change
