New Miboxer C4-12: "Upgrade C4-12"

Interestingly, fixed MiBoxer problem 3 slots in the Upgrade C4-12?

Old C4-12 - problem (reviews from BLF)
C4-Plus - problem (reviews from Aliexpress)
C4S - problem (reviews from BLF)

I want to understand - did the MiBoxer engineers work on the bugs, or their problem of the updated C4 series was transferred to Uprgade C4-12 also.
Apparently the quality of products is affected by the fact that it is produced in very small batches.

What is “problem 3 slots”?

Slot 3 stops working after a short time.

For example: MiBoxer C4-12 ~ Bay 3 quit charging. ~Now with more pictures~

Never had a problem with slot #3 with the two C4-12’s I own, and still don’t. Been close to two years. I guess there were 3 people who reported slot 3 not working. I’m sure MiBoxer has sold more than 5 of these.

3 people are just an example of one topic.
Read reviews on Amazon and Aliexpress - many people complain that the 3rd slot stops working almost immediately after purchase.

I also have two C4-12’s used for over a year and a half without a problem

Knock on wood, my original C4-12 hasn’t had any issues with slot 3 either.

Now, as far as using inaccurate IR measurements to automatically select charging current, umm… yeah… Miboxer needs to rethink this one. In some cases it works OK, in other cases, not so much.

Banggood - Upgrade Miboxer C4-12

The upgrade Miboxer C4-12 has finally arrived home. First impression, box look very identical to older one except bit longer. So it has 2 button, nice. So description say ” Fit protected 21700” yeah, I tested with protected Klarus GT21-50…it fit well! But haven’t yet test cell charging, so how it works I’ll tell them later on…sorry my cell haven’t drained yet. Nice add to temperature selection, celcious or farrenheit.

Only one took my attention, the LCD backlight especially on the right side…I can see 2 beam/light very bright… I was wondering why I’m seeing this, I thought it some kind of LCD minor faulty probably from shipment. Is anyone on Blf experience this It look like uneven spreadout of light, a bit ugly for me. But I’m fine, that not my big case tho.

ofcourse Backlight function works well indeed brighter. Gues I have to mail them about that issue.

Well, I finally got New Miboxer C4-12!!!
Immediately I wanted to do the test, I discharged Ni-Mh AAA LADDA to 0.05V and put the cell into the charger. At first he wrote “Err” and began to charge a droplet charge. With a voltage of 0.08V (not 0.8 !!!), he saw the cell, recognized it as Ni-Mh and set a minimum charge current of 0.1A based on the internal resistance of the cell over 1000mΩ ( “—-” ). When the internal resistance of the cell dropped to 400mΩ, the charger raised the current to 0.2A and so on. By the end of the charge, the internal resistance was 58mΩ and the charge current was 0.7A.

Tell me, what else is there a charger that can charge so beautifully in automatic mode?

I never charge my AAA cells at 0.7A, but I suppose it’s not unsafe.

Certainly for ordinary Ni-Mh AAA - 0.7A is a lot. But this is LSD AAA N-Mh LADDA from IKEA, for them a current of up to 0.6C is normal. By the way, Xtar VC4S and VC2S installs automatically the charging current 2A for this cell - and this is already too much, but apparently Xtar does not think so.

What is the capacity of this LADDA cell?

LADDA AAA Ni-Mh - 900mAh

So, a current rate of 0.7A for this cell would mean 0.8C.

i’m pretty sure my VC2S charges most NiMH at 0.2A not 2A. Surely you must be mistaken about that charge rate.

Please, see Round cell charger index

VC2S - min current 0.4A.

0.2A is only the starting charge current, then the charger will set a charge current of at least 0.4A. And on the passport min charge current 0.5A.
Most likely you are charging old cells. What is their internal resistance?
I have this charger, when inserting a cell AAA LADDA Ni-MH with internal resistance 50mΩ, it exposes the charge current 2A.

This is not a deadly difference.

Yup. I already stated that it’s not unsafe. I just prefer to use a lower rate.

I agree with you. I’m just very excited about the automatic work of New C4-12.
