Imalent MS18 with 100,000Lumen and R90TS with 36,000Lumen

I found a video about ms18&x70 from a chinese video website . 视频去哪了呢?_哔哩哔哩_bilibili

He did good test and used drone for beamshots. :+1:

Great beamshots. Really shows the difference between the X70 and MS18. MS18 is impressive.

I like that video a lot! I wonder how long it took to make it. I've been thinking of doing a video review besides my written review, but I'm afraid it will take too much time, and I probably need other tools (remote microphone).

heat the ballon

He’s uploaded the video on youtube

always use the lockout feature!

Yes sir. I always do with my ms12 and r90c.

I made my first video of the production version of MS18. I speak in hungarian but it has full english subtitles.
Hope you will like it. I teared it to multiple parts. Don’t want to make it too long. This part 1 contains unboxing, first thoughts, user interface, how it works and some teaser blinks of what is next.

ZozzV6, really nice video review you have created.
Ya, strange that 10k doesn’t have active cooling feature, maybe Imalent set the temperature threshold quite high to preserve battery.

Thank you!
No. User manual said that only the 22000 lumens or above levels have the fans automatic activation. They told me they could hold in hand after 20 minutes in 10K lm. Maybe they less sensitive to heat than me  I will try to measure heating up in 5K and all above levels and monitoring temperature but I will stop if it reach 70°C on the head.

If you guys are considering buying one of these new Imalent lights, make sure you get in touch with Martin from m4dm4x.com. He will hook you up.

Just got mine, my vid will be up later Today.

Heres my video, ENJOY

Brainsick67, thanks for the review. Now I know that two pieces are plastic. Good thing is that it will be lighter.
I personally think Acebeam has given up to compete with Imalent this round. They don’t release any info about their future beast to hold on their potential customers who want to buy big flashlights. Looks like their plan is to watch Imalent release MS18 and see how it goes.

Then it is quite sure they really design active cooling for lumens higher than 10k only. Their thinking might be that DX80 has no fan and it is 30k lumens.
But I think if there is a active cooling feature, why not have it for all modes, let the temperature decide. If user uses Turbo and 25k for let’s say 5 minutes, and then switch to 10k lumens, MS18 should still be very hot.

Can’t you manually turn on the fans?

That means during OFF—Turn On Fan—>Use whatever level—->Turn Off Fan after use.
That is quite manual.

Is it not worth it to have fans on at 10,000 lumen for long time? I thought this is what you wanted?

Automatic is always most convenient in this case. Manual override is also good feature, they are not mutual exclusive.
