A bit off topic question. May someone help me identifying the OEM of this cell:
I got a very good deal of Lii-100 charger plus button top cell. Since I knew no way it was an NCR18650B I decided to remove the button top, and that is what I got after a nice while of play with my rotary tool.
The cell scored 3256.5mAh in my Lii-500's less optimistic channel which, according to my reference data, is equivalent to a ā3336.5mAh Henrik score. More or less, of course. Which means that cell may be some ā34ā model of an unknown (to me) manufacturer. May someone shed some light on this?
Thanks CRX for the very useful comparison graphs. These new Vapcells are a game changer for 16340 and 14500 lithium ion flashlights. Now I am more interested in these small flashlights with the more usable capacities offered by these new Vapcell cells.
I received my 2 Vapcell 10440 batteries and although I can not do real tests, I compared runtime/output on my Maratac copper AAA hotrod. Well, I tried but quite screwed it up. I did the first runtime with an old Efest cell but let it run for 4 minutes without checking temperature. After 4 minutes without thinking I tried to twist it off with the following result:
Yes you can recognise the Maratac knurling in that blister.
After that, a ledwire had unsoldered itself from the ledboard (that one was never soldered very pretty because of a too short wire I must confess) and a dark spot appeared on top of the led dome, so I needed to repair the flashlight (provisionally resolder the wire and scraping off the black bits off the led dome) before starting the second test with the Vapcell 10440. So much for the clean comparison
Then after 100 seconds into the Vapcell test, the same ledwire decided to unsolder itself again from the ledboard. The Maratac needs some decent re-doing everything now but hereās the data that I managed to gather. Take it with a grain of salt, also because a new cell is compared to a cell that is 3 years old already but I think that the Vapcell really is the better performer despite all that.
I can do a mAh test on my Opus still, but thusfar Vapcellās ratings have been decent.
Received my 14500 cells the other day, sadly it doesnāt work in the Eagtac but does in the Reylight. Oh well, Iāll keep using the efest cells in the Eagtac.
Runtime is much longer that the 800mah efests I have. Very pleased with these.
