Looking forward to the next generation drivers then.
Are you still planning on making 20mm drivers? I am concerned about the heat transfer from the Mosfet on the LD-A4 driver when using adaptor rings even though I fill the driver cavity with silicone cubes. I use my throwers with two modes only, moonlight and max safe regulated current. This means the mosfet won’t run too hot in high mode because of the difference between Vbatt and Vf at those high currents, right? I am referring to the CSLNM1.TG and when I install the new CULNM1.TG.
I can see this making it’s way into my Emisar D4 somehow…. I don’t even use my D4 because of the driver. I wan’t a proper cc driver in it!
One teeny tiny suggestion: consider sourcing Cree 660nm Photo Red XP-E2’s or even better, the newer red XP-G3’s.
It’s a big niche on the market, finding them in single quantities for a reasonable price is impossible, and Kaidomain and others only have 620nm “orange” red XP-E2’s.
I personally wouldn’t mind paying a bit more to get a Photo Red led in small quantities. Or maybe the Photo Red SST-10’s are worth consideration if they can withstand 2.5A as the XP-E2 can.
I will check that deep red XP-G3, it looks interesting because die looks like it's 2mm2 and I also prefer deep/true red over orange-ish 620nm red LEDs.
Also the other very singificant advantage over 620nm red LEDs is that light output does not drop as nearly as much at high temperatures:
