【convoy】H4 and B35AM options are updated

Without a true moonlight mode, a flashlight is useless to me. Below 1 lumen.

How are you doing with your car ?
When you are driving downtown at 50 km/h on the third gear position, if you need to slow down and go back to the second gear, would you like to have to go to the fourth gear then fifth then first before being able to drive on the second one ?
Bistro has ascending and descending cycling modes. You can descend back, for example, to the lowest mode when you are in the 2nd. :+1:

Nice comparison  but a flashlight is not a car. How do you distinguish between descend and ascend with one single reverse clicky switch? Long and short press? That feels like a complicated gearbox to me, but thats my personal preference. The idea is nice though.

Yes :

You can configure Bistro to have 4 modes or 3 with moonlight, in low to high or high to low order, enable or disable memory, etc, store it and that’s it.

Bistro is my preferred UI for reverse switches.

Simon, is there a way to select or modify the driver for 1 mode, high only?

It seems that few people have such a demand.

i will produce 6A driver with one mode in the future

uh ,i hope luminus launches 4000K ,too

Short and long press? My personal best is single press - next mode, double press - previous mode, 3 press - strobe, e.g. 6 press config mode, and so on.

@mocarny
Which UI is it ?

This is the legendary UI, have it in my first flashlight, bought online, and it has this great UI with many more options. Never found it again anywhere as only driver, wondering why nobody is selling it

Double press on a clicky for previous mode? Interesting, I’ve actually never heard of that before.

Personally I can’t see that as being superior to long press for previous mode, but long press has to work consistently and that has higher hardware requirements.

I’m with you on this one! Curious to see what you got for us Simon

Simon, will the new flashlights have 1, 10, 40, 100, or 0,1, 3, 30, 100? I think second option is better, moonlight is sometimes needed.

With double press you can’t go wrong, double press is always previous mode, single is always next. With this long/short press you can press a bit too long, or too short and have wrong mode. You would love it

I wish Simon had that in his flashlights

It’s like Crescendo, except it has levels and not ramping. It would be amazing to use! I would love that with the ability to turn mode memory on/off. With mode memory off, click on to get moon and double half tap, boom! Turbo.

Thank you Oweban, you are kind and a real flashlights guru!! Regards

Yes, this driver has ability to turn mode memory on/off, check the battery voltage, you can change the amount of modes from 1 to 5, change brightness of each mode (choosen from 15 brightness steps, 7 noPWM), increase or decrease temperature of thermal protection, and my favourite, you can have 2 mode groups, up to 5 modes in each group, e.g. one with memory mode on, and another with off, you can switch between those groups by 9-half presses. So you can have memory off 0,05, 1, 10, 40 and in another group memory on 5, 40, 100%.Perfect, love it.
And if it seems too hard for average users, they can just use 1press - next, 2presses - previous and 3presses - strobe, maybe 9presses for group changing, easy to remember.

If only Simon was interested in making it, I would send him full list of functions

Thanks rooirissi

Mocarny, what light was this UI in? Curious to learn a bit more.
