【convoy】H4 and B35AM options are updated

I am not interested in the turbo mode, I need more flood light in a more compact body S11.

I have done some rather extensive testing with double press, but for boost mode, not previous mode. It was brought to my attention in a thread I made asking for these kind of things: Driver giveaway: Constant current 17mm drivers, winners (finally) announced, post #2. (double tap discussion started at post #123).

So I have to disagree a little. I noticed with double press on a clicky that you can go wrong. There is a timing issue that must be dealt with, and that is you have to have a time difference between double press and two single presses. If I want to go up two modes I need to do two single presses. If I do them too fast they are interpreted as a double press. Too me this timing distinction faces the exact same issues as short press vs long press. I implemented it and settled on 200ms time limit for double press.

Believe me, I have tested this stuff a lot. I don’t get short press vs long press wrong. If the time limits are set fine, and you have hardware to support exact timing (like OTSM), messing up short press and long press is as difficult for me as it is for you to mess up double press vs two single presses. With that said, I now have support for double press so I’ll have a look at making a UI that uses it for previous mode. I have the space for it.

Interesting, thanks for posting. I’ll have a closer look at that, might give me some suggestions.

Anyhow, this is a Convoy thread, I should stop hijacking it.

sorry ,the reflector is not suitable

Hello Simon, is Convoy going to add 21700 and 18650 cells? It would be very good to have 1 stop shopping from Convoy.

What are the run times for the 4 brightness settings for the S21A?

I'll post some graphs when mine arrives in a couple of weeks. I generally do runtime graphs on ALL my new lights.

Don't think I've seen Simon list runtimes.

Do we know beam intensity (cd) for S21A yet?

Description of S11 XHP50.2 states “maximum output 3A” and yet it delivers 2400 lumen? Is this correct??

Yep - should be on the money. 6V @ 3A, 18W…

The S21A days max is 6amps, yet the output is slightly less?

SST40, 3V @ 6A. 18W also.

Does this mean the s11 is twice as efficient for 2x the battery life if it runs at half the amps?

It’s the same wattage though - the XHP50.2 is a 6V emitter, so it’ll have a boost driver. Unsure how that affects the efficiency, but the S11 also uses a 26650, so longer runtimes.

Oh… ok. I guess my question is how many Amps does it draw from a cell? About 5-6A?

My (semi-educated) guess is about that, yep. 18w/4.2v = 4.28, throw in some inefficiency, that’ll be ~5-6.

How many amps does the S21A draw since it says 6amps on the website?

Most emitters will go above 3V at 6A, but still, a 10A battery will well and truly be sufficient.

Sorry, I’ll start again. Some other data I’ve come across since.

An XHP50.2 at 3A will have a voltage of around 6.2V, giving 18.6W.
An SST40 at 6A will have a voltage of around 3.4V, giving 20.4W.

If you go by a full battery, then 4.2V:

  • XHP50.2 is pulling 4.42A (without efficiency drops)
  • SST40 is pulling 4.85A (without efficiency drops)

If by a “half empty” battery, then 3.7V (assuming it can maintain full draw, which is more of a buck booster thing):

  • XHP50.2 is pulling 5.02A (without efficiency drops)
  • SST40 is pulling 5.51A (without efficiency drops).

Again - 10A batteries will do this well and truly.

guys ,who can do me a favor?
i want to know the correct diameter of sofirn soshine LISHEN vapcell 21700
I originally planned to buy these batteries directly in China. What I am depressed is that these Chinese-made batteries are not available in China or very expensive.

Really awkward :person_facepalming:

Which Vapcell? There are many. HKJ has all that info on his website.

very helpful ,thanks so much
