Imalent MS18 with 100,000Lumen and R90TS with 36,000Lumen

Has the first run shipped yet? I haven’t heard anything from Neal other than that Imalent is finishing up testing and that was May 21st.

I have a notice from BG that possibly on 06/06 they will begin to ship.If they don’t,I think if I cancel my order.

Neal's Baby is in the hospital - please allow him some time to answer your mails and PMs!

afaik he did not receive all ordered units from Imalent last week - more should arrive this week to fulfill all open orders.

Oh no worries here. I figured shipping would take like a month, I wasn’t expecting it until late June/early July. Anything faster than that is all gravy.

Yes they changed and tweaked a few things from the March IWA version what we told them but we did not have time to test it extensively so for that short time we didn’t tested runtimes and etc.
They told a few things will be changed next time. Maybe get some info earlier before production to help them make a more better flashlight.

But enough said.
Here is some fun time in the night with the MS18:

That’s an amazing video, positioning of the lights seems to be the exact same in every photo and the way they transition is also great to see the differences.

10/10

It is interesting how lumen race and lumen ratings have escalated in past few years. I remember times when a 5000lm flashlight was considered an overkill flooder, and it is not so long ago!

But it is worth pointing out is how poorly a human eye responds to a stimulus of lumens in these high numbers. In this case it means only a small visual improvement from 60000 lm to 100000 lm. The video above shows it clearly. Some say it is because of a logarithmic relation between a stimulus and perception of brightness, which means the difference in brightness { = perception} between 2 stimuli is diminishing and not proportional when the lumens {= stimulus} reach high values.

Ten years ago there were comments stating 700 lumens was “scorching”. Now we can get that in something the size of our thumb.

The logarithmic scale applies to hearing too.

How does the R90c, with four 20700 batteries, have 63whr and the R90ts/MS18 with eight 21700 batteries only has 92whr?

Well, someone did a typo…

Measured 4510 lux at 10 meter throw for the MS18. Very close to Imalent’s beam distance spec of 1350 meters.
Measured 2970 lux at 10 meter throw for the X70.

When did you buy the light please? I see that Banggood says preorder. If they come with stock, then I try to buy one if there is a coupon then.

I bought it from Neal. There were coupons available but not any more for the MS18 at banggood. It is available at Banggood. Processing time 1 to 3 business days.

nice you got the MS18!
