Curious, when I open the item via the “item link” vapcell Dennis submitted (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32970825706.html) the ad works, but when I use https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/-/1084158_33000300196.html it doesn't. Suffice to say I block location, I am using an “outdated” browser (this is what “a few months old” software is considered now) and I hate all those links full of tracking shit and other crap. I also refuse to use CRapplications.
Right now every time I go to a store in AliExpress I see this with sickly frequency:
I dont have those lights, so I cant check… this is just a guess:
probably the button on the Vapcell is shorter than on the Efest
and if the D3a has a raised ring around a positive contact button in the head, (physical anti reverse polarity), the battery + cant reach the + contact in the D3a head…
Im guessing the Reylight either uses a spring at the positive contact, and or does not have the raised ring.
a pic of the inside of the two lights heads, and of the two batteries standing side by side showing the height of the buttons, might shed some light on the issue.
bingo! the positive on the ET head is recessed, the positive on the ReyLight is raised
a small magnet on the Vapcell might solve the issue with the ET recessed + button…
but caution! we dont want the magnet to short the positive contact to the ring, if it is ground…
You could add something like this to the driver but that take away the reverse battery protection (second pic). I would assume it probably doesn’t have a electronic protection that’s the reason it has a mechanical protection. So you’ll have to be carefully to make sure the battery is inserted correctly.
My low temperature Bi50Pb32Sb18 blob converted cells do not suffer from oxidation on the top.
How much money are you paying for Eagtac or that sort of manufacturer flashlights? In my opinion paying good money for something and receiving such a piss-poor “@#$% consumer battery choices” reverse polarity protection solutions is very bad.
