For me the lens change isn’t a problem (as long as it can be changed by a Carclo) the real problem is remove the glass. It’s an unacceptable detail in a flashlight like this.
For option 2a: ” Include glass lens with new optic, to allow easy modding. accept the new optics and these can ship in 48 hours and change the optics yourself, the FW3A will add a original lens in the package”
Is this easy to do for someone like me who doesn’t know anything about “modding” at all? There is no risk on breaking things while doing this?
Just in case someone prepares his bike~~, boxing~~, garden-, or workshop-gloves:
I’m pretty sure he meant clean cotton gloves, to avoid fingerprints.
I myself use the cloth plus fluid I clean my glasses (with acryllic lenses) with. And keep things dust-free!
Thanks for a quick well thought out description of the issue and multiple solutions to keep everybody happy. I sent my email on my choice and will definitely consider ordering another in the future as other materials/colors come out.
3.“for future optics. the optics company are start to make another prototype to make it same as carclo 10511 optics. If the result is good, will use that optics in the future.before it in production, will send them to TK,Kay and other reviews to compare”.
I can sympathize with Lumintop wanting another source of optics. The Carclo 10511 is not the most popular of Carlo’s 20mm triple-TIR optics. Understandable that there might be long lead times when ordering it in quantity like Lumintop must. Also understandable that Lumintop would not want to have to delay shipment of future orders 4-6 weeks just to wait for optics.
