ThruNite T10

I've done a search and don't see mention of this nice little light on this forum.

I'm about to pick up my second ThruNite T10 from Illumination Supply after giving my first one to my niece a week after picking it up. It's got some really nice features that I want in an EDC: mode memory; three modes that goes from FireFly (0.04 lumens) to medium (9 lumens) to high (115 lumens). About the only thing that I want on this light would be a belt clip. I'll work on that after I pick up my next T10.

Comparing the T10 to a Quark MiNi AA: the T10 has a lower low and a higher high and the MiNi is slightly shorter physically. They're roughly the same diameter. The T10 has tighter threads, though they're roughly the same smoothness in use. The mode memory, though, is really the thing that attracts me to this light as well as the light levels. You see, I currently carry a ThruNite Ti locked into FireFly mode and a 4Sevens Quark 123T programmed low/high. The T10 would replace both of these lights, allowing me to carry one less light and the pre flash of the 123T drives me crazy.

Anyone else here own one?

I've had my T10 for almost 2 months now(?), and have been meaning to do a full review. As it comes, the light is almost perfect. The two issues that stood out to me was the rather loose threads and the lack of a good clip. I fixed both and now it's my goto edc. I used teflon tape around the threads and made my own integrated clip from 316 SS. Here's a few pics:

The picture quality stinks because I'm at work and using my phone to upload/edit.

If I ever get around to that review I'll re-take some better ones.

Awesome little light though. For those that don't own one, I highly recommend it (I don't recommend lights too often).

@ PCC: sounds like a nice little light, I might check it out. Just one thing: why on earth would you want to carry one less light?

Just kidding

As it is I'm carrying four lights to work: ThruNite Ti; 4Sevens Preon ReVO SS; 4Sevens Quark 123T; and a Frankenstein Solarforce/Surefire abomination. Some days I carry one more in my backpack as well. I think I carry enough lights as it is :)

Thanks for the info; I've been eyeing that one lately.

Nice clip.

Aah, that's more like it ;)

How are the modes arranged in the T10? Is it High/Medium/Really Low or Really Low/Medium/High?

Even with mode memory it would bug me that the light starts on High. I want my lights to start on Low if possible, because it's uncomfortable blasting away at night with 1000 lumen when all you needed was 10...

It's FF, medium, then high. I just make sure it's set to FF before I go to bed and I won't get any blinding surprises when I wake up in the morning.

With regards to the threads, my new one exhibits no thread wobble until I unscrew the head 1.5 turns out from On. By comparison, my MiNi AA wobbles at 0.5 turns from On and my MiNi 123 wobbles right after the light turns off.

One thing that I've noticed about the T10 is that the FF mode is brighter than the FF mode of my Ti. My Ti, which was the subject of a torture test before it was given to me, is about as bright as the spill of the T10 in FF mode. It may be because the Ti was damaged during the torture test and is putting out less than the rated 0.04 lumens, though. It was damaged in a way that the higher mode does not come on anymore. I'll have to get another Ti FF to compare mine to.

Match: Awesome clip solution on a sweet light. PM incoming!
