18650/26650

Newbie () question.

So I want to use the more readily available 18650 to use a 26650 light.
I can do so using a plastic adapter. 18650 + adapter = 26650 ( adapted to D4S )?

Question, will the 18650 suffer a short lifespan using it as a hi-drain pseudo 26650?

In other words, can a 18650 survive in a D4S?

TIA, all.

Not a problem as long as you get an appropriate high drain cell

& if I don’t? (Thnx 4 your quick response, BTW!)

then you just won’t get full light output

:+1:

Yes you can use a 18650 in a 26650 powered light I used a couple of different 18650 cells in my ft03 light doing a output test, found out using the imren 4200 mah 26650 cell which is a fairly new cell it out performed all my 18650 cells and I have them all except ebay chinese cells

I have a Shockli 26650 (5.5k mAh) which is stellar—just want to use an adapter
If necessary, to use an 18650.

@ 5.5k mAh, the Schockli should last a tad longer than the Imren 4.2k mAh?

The shockli indeed should last longer but not willing to find out as i buy direct from a warehouse and get two for 6.98 tax free

Care to share, Josh?

I don’t know if it’s worth the trouble for what it’s worth I may send one to someone for testing purposes as far as amps and mah capacity
