Ordered on June 13; got an email a few days ago saying it was shipped but the tracking code was recognized only today. In fact it was posted today in spite of the email.
Tracking codes from China post (like mine) usually track fine. It takes about 2 weeks to arrive here.
The only way to compare it accurately is to have both copper and aluminum versions with the same emitters and with thermal limit set to exactly the same. Unfortunately, I heard all Anduril lights have a rather random preset thermal limit. Maybe a ceiling bounce app would make it easier to compare thermal performance. This would be a very interesting test.
So Flashaholics has a review posted on YouTube and we both have the same emitters XPL Hi V3 and he tested stepdown with the default thermal config. I don't know what cells he used. His flashlight stepped down around 15 seconds, mine steps down at around 28 seconds.
For the full copper version it is really heavy, I would never EDC this light. The machining on the flashlight is quite good, and the fins are chamfered nicely. They did a pretty good job at polishing. Holding it in your hands it does feel nicely balanced and well made.
I like the stainless steel bezel. If the light were to fall, it’d most likely fall on the bezel. Wouldn’t want the copper bezel to have a huge ding in it.
I can’t wait to feel how heavy this thing is. I like dense things.
My copper came in but it has an aluminum bezel. I thought it was all copper? I bought it thinking it was going to get all copper. I wouldn’t have bought it with the aluminum bezel Displeased recipient.
I tought it was on full copper including the bezel. It a shame when they replace it with aluminium bezel.I would like it on full copper including the bezel. If it is in the option to have titanium bezel, iam glad to pay extra. What a shame.
One nice change from looking at your picture: They got rid of the deep slot for the clip in the body tube.
One of the criticisms of the aluminum E07 was that slot was too deep and resulted in an extremely thing battery tube at that point. With the thought that the tube might crack if you dropped the light (though I have not ready any posts from anyone saying it actually did break).
I emailed fireflies and they said the copper bezel was too soft to protect the light. Then they said the stainless steel bezel would be ( gold colored) whatever that means. Their going to be pissing of a lot of people. Not too happy with fireflies.
Yeah this was a shiesty move, they could have sent emails or replied here stating the issue and if we still wanted to go forward with the purchase or get a full refund!
