“Free” Olight I3E EOS (Desert Tan) - closed

Mine came today. Nice little light. Being a fan of the ITP A3 EOS, this is well machined and puts out a nice beam. I too removed the battery first thing and stuck an eneloop in there.
Does anyone know which led and tint they are using?

As of yesterday, my I3E still showed "processing" in my account on Olight's website. Today, it gave me a tracking number. The tracking number shows it was just accepted today at my local post office in Oregon. Seems there was a HUGE gap between processing and shipped.

The original add said "Phillips LUXEON TX". No more detail than that.

Indeed the one above the brown olight is a copper version...

Be seeing you!

Came today. Nice light! Wife is delighted that I got her a good light for her keychain to replace the crappy plastic L.L. Bean light that popped apart, the one she thought was "good" 'cause, you know... L. L. Bean.

Kudos the Olight!

USPS tracking shows mine was delivered today but it wasn’t in the mailbox. Perhaps it was put in a neighbor’s box by mistake and will turn up; otherwise I’ll find out what Olight customer service is like.

I did this runtime graph over a year ago, which shows a nice flat runtime. Olight says the runtime for the Desert Tan I3E is 1hr, 10min with NiMH. This graph confirms that. Note that this graph was for the silver 120 lumens version. The desert tan is the 90 lumens version, which would have a slightly longer runtime.

Use an Energizer Ultimate Lithium, and you will get about 1.5 times the runtime.1.5 the runtime.

Nice. Thanks Terry! I was already planning to use Energizer Ultimate Lithium in mine. Your testing confirms that it will be a good choice.

The charts don’t really tell the whole story, though. The Energizer Ultimate Lithium cells are very expensive, and one time use. Eneloop Pro are NiMH rechargeable. So, the runtime for the Eneloop Pro would be that same length of time, over and over again, for as many times as it will take a full charge. That means, it really beats the Energizer Ultimate Lithium on complete runtime by a few hundred hours!

I know you know this, and most of us BLF members know this. But some people don’t, or they might just miss it when looking at your data. So I thought it needed to be clarified.

Understood. I use Energizer Lithiums in my car lights, where the light might be used sporadically over several years. I know they are unlikely to leak, shelf life in excess of 10 years, and aren't as bothered by extreme heat/cold.

It absolutely needs a low mode

a simple high / low would work nicely.

it's a sweet color ,a heck of a good price and ..yeah it needs a low

Just bagged one in the UK, thanks!

In the German shop also free light plus 40% on a bunch of lights

“finger in front of lens low” on mine… :stuck_out_tongue:

I used that “low mode” method also Streamer. :+1: . It works like a
charm….

Anyone do a long term test with a 10440?

Yes, well over a year ago. As I recall, it ran for 5 minutes + (much brighter), then it just turned off by itself. Then it was permanently dead.

Thanks Terry. Guess I won’t using one in mine. Bummer cause I like 10440 lights.

I wonder if it would be safe with a LiFePO4 cell, since the voltage is lower. :innocent:

Got mine today , it’s tiny , smaller than the jet beam jetu.
The tint is nice & white.
The included battery is shite.
Now I’m getting spammed a few times a day by olight , time to hit the unsubscribe button me thinks.
