ANDURIL USER MANUAL & LIST OF LIGHTS

Hah! That was it! Yeah, I (or my wife) must have unwittingly entered ramp config and set the floor to 1/150. Thanks TrueRMS, I wouldn’t have thought of that without your response :innocent:

Thanks for posting. And this is a very nice manual TK!

How do I download and print it out with the formatting preserved? In Notepad, it is just one big run-on paragraph. Thanks.

Saving it in any way (save the page, rightclick on the link, etc.) will get you an html page. Trash everything except the .htm/.html file itself. Optionally rename it to .txt

Edit that file. Lop off everything outside the “<pre>” and “</pre>” tags, inclusive, and save as a .txt file.

Then print it.

Funny thing is, I never saw the LOTR movies, so had to goggle where “anduril” came from. Sounded like a medication for prostate problems or something. Wellp, now I know better…

I may try this if I have too. But doesn't a PDF version of the manual exist? Thanks.

Any chance of you returning the custom old lumens Flashlight i sent to you when you were known as cereal_killer earlier this year, or are you going to keep ignoring my pm’s and emails

I have a suggestion: while ramping up/down, if the user releases the button very close to the max-regulated blink, the flashlight should assume user is trying to stop at the blink and snap back to it.

In my personal fork I added a short delay (hold time) after the blip. Your idea sounds interesting as well, but the ramping is rather fast and thus it would cover a big range of levels.

Yes, the time delay is a good solution also.

I thought about this previously (time delay) for going above the ceiling. Right now you have the ramp ceiling and double-click to turbo. But nothing in between (going up) which can be unfortunate if you set a low ceiling.

Perhaps it would be useful to have a medium delay (idk maybe ~2s ?) to “break through” the ceiling and continue ramping above it?
Or maybe not, I am just thinking out loud.

FWIW, I was able to easily create a PDF file of the FW3A manual by (1) first installing the free version of CutePDF Writer, (2) right-clicking the manual at the above link and selecting Print, and (3) selecting CutePDF Writer as the printer. Then voila, my PDF copy was saved.

Edited: Got a free SaberCatHost file hosting account and uploaded the PDF Anduril manual for anyone that wants to download it. Here it is.

When I save it from my phone I get a picture, then just printed it from my phone.

Is Andúril (full version with all strobe modes) available as standard on any single emitter 18650/20700/21700 lights? Love the FW3A, but a light with single emitter is better for my use cases (connecting to light painting tools).

I would love to have an FW1A!

I just read these messages and didn’t know that the FW3A has had their firmwares updated. I still have the first release FW3A and tested the 2-stage lockout — it looks like mine is still the old version without the 2-stage lockout. (Tested the same button sequence on the Emisar D4v2, and noted that it had the 2-stage lockout feature).

This points to a few things: Lumintop does use new firmware on the FW3A when it’s available (unlike on the BLF Q8 and I think Sofirn Q8, even their latest batches apparently still use NarsilM v1.0, instead of NarsilM v1.2)

Is there any way to turn off temp monitoring ?

Compile-time, yes. Runtime, a little bit. You can heat the light up and set the temperature calibration to 1 °C. Then set the limit to the highest value.

I hope in the near future the built in USB C can be connected to computer for an easy config

why does the blink matter?
i would just as soon not have any of the blinks
i don;t care when it switches between 1 or 2 or 3 FETS

wle

Just a question of efficiency and tint. Efficiency goes down right after switching (but the tint might be improved).

Anyone know how to reset a d4v2?

I read somewhere that this will delete muggle mode and is what I would like to accomplish, I have some harbor freight flashlights to lend to muggles during camping trips, etc
