“Free” Olight I3E EOS (Desert Tan) - closed

I ain’t got a scooby ,but I would say it’s cool white but on the neutral side of cool.

I’m a victim of the tint lottery I fear

That’s unlucky , unfortunately we only paid postage & it will cost again to send back even if they accept.

Philips LUXEON TX is all they listed on the original add.

Data sheet here shows:
70, 80 and 90CRI minimum and full CCT range available
Without contacting Olight, I don't think we know which CRI/CCT they used.

Yes so very true. For $5 I can live with it

I was hoping Maukka or one of the other with the right equipment bought the light and put it on the test bench.
Would be interesting to know what led they used. I would for sure not complain about the 90CRI 5700K version

Lol, spam is not the word 5 times a day!
I did /was going to post this, then I deleted it.
Now I love flashlights as much as the next flashaholic, but 5 emails a day from 1 brand…… - there was a film ‘how to lose friends and alienate people’ maybe Olight should change tact or their tagline will be ‘how to gain customers and lose them immediately’

That’s the price we’ve payed for a free torch lol
But the unsubscribe button is easy to push , I haven’t done it yet ,I ve just been deleting them as they come.

I don’t think I’m getting hit that bad by them, I was for about 3 days but before and after that I don’t think it was even daily. Now Battery Junction on the other hand hits me at least 1-2 times a day.

I haven’t got hit once yet by them, well, at least not SPAM. The only emails I have received are to confirm my registration, to confirm my order, to tell me when the order was shipped, and one more yesterday to tell me it had been delivered.

My Olight i3e has a nice, cool-side-of-neutral tint. Compared to my Astrolux A01, it looks a bit cooler and makes the A01 tint look a bit green in comparison. My A01 is sporting a Nichia 219C. I have the original cell in the i3e right now, but I’ll replace it with a Energizer Ultimate Lithium probably in the next day or so. Or maybe a Eneloop Pro Black AAA. I’m hoping to see a nice boost in output. Right now, the hot spot is the same size as the A01 and to my untrained eye, it seems as bright. The A01 has a larger, brighter, and more defined corona, whereas the Olight i3e fades (nearly) smoothly from hot spot to a faint spill. But the A01 already has a Energizer Ultimate Lithium in it. Since it is made entirely of heavy copper, I’m surprised the i3e competes and especially with an inferior battery!

The threads of the i3e are anodized and seem nice and tight. They don’t have nearly as much play in them as the threads in my A01. I can turn the head of the Olight just a bit past off and never worry about it bumping on. Overall, the light appears to be well engineered and well made, as usual for Olight products (at least products I’ve used). I’m very happy with it, for $5. :money_mouth_face:

Received mine today!

Great tiny keychain light :+1:

Mine arrived a few days ago and almost everybody is really happy with it.

Love the pic! xD

Well, that didn’t last long.

“What you got in the package? Oh that is so cute! Gimme!”

It is small, shorter than my Arc.

mine is 03359.

I got 05587.

In addition to the one I got; one of our Canadian members was able to get one of these lights in his Olight cart, but Olight wouldn't ship to Canada. So we worked out a deal. I did use this opportunity to compare tint between both - they were identical.

depends on your beach I guess…

we have black sand beaches here where many concentrate their efforts at locating the original claim for the nym Gold Beach

I get 102 lumens on an eneloop

the tint is definitely green, and the CRI is definitely not more than 70…. it makes my red test beads look maroon… normal for low cri

great little giveaway for a muggle…
sure to be good for aaa battery sales… lol

So been using this a lot the past few days and I had sent the link to a family member and everyone there is using this little light even though I have given them many flashlights.

The super small size, quality, everything is just easy with this.

I find myself wishing for another version with two aaa, still keeping it as small as possible. It would be smaller and maybe more fun than most other penlights.
