I saw ,I believe, 2 days ago on the Amazon link to WK30 that they expected more stock first week of August. The 4th 6th is what I think it said. So don’t give up yet. :+1:
I’ve only been whining coz I wanted it by my birthday . Yeh, I’m spoiled ain’t I?
I can confirm that the battery that comes with Thrunite’s TC20 and Catapult V6 do fit and work in it even though the Thrunite batteries are protected and longer. The reverse worked too, the short Wurkkos marked battery worked in the TC20. ( after I figured out I was accidentally trying to put the wrong flashlights tailcap on.)
Just sharing an observation here- I have the WK30 and I have a Convoy S2+ UV Nichia 365nm, and there is a very big difference between the two. My Convoy UV light is more aqua blue compared to the very purple WK30 and it lights up a lot more stuff than the WK30. For example, looking on the wall near a light switch, the Convoy shows a perfect hand print, most likely from one of my grandsons (no idea what he had on his hands) but the WK30 shows nothing.
I really like the WK30, but I’m planning to change the emitter to the Nichia LED used in the Convoy.
With your observations, maybe I won’t get a 2nd WK30 for my wife to use in our other house to find cat urine. Sounds like the Convoy S2+ is a better option.
I mostly find detergent residue with my WK30. Doesn’t even pick up drool on my bed pillow.
Yeh. Some things fluoresce under plain ol’ blue light. Others under violet. Others only under 395nm and shorter, then 385nm and shorter, and best is 365nm which’ll get most things including the red strip on US hunnerts.
Remember - many cleaner residues will fluoresce due to whiteners and other ingredients. Not anywhere near everything that’s glowing under 395nm is going to be a biological.
Has anyone opened the head on one yet? Is the MCPCB one large one with the leds on it or multiple small ones? Is part of the driver on the MCPCB? Just wondering about modding, would like to put a Nichia UV in it for lower frequency.
I received it a couple days ago, but haven’t had much time to use it.
I really like the white, it’s beautiful. I hope to get more lights with LH351D in the future. I had been wanting a light with both white and red, and now I have one. The red can get really bright. I would have preferred if the red had one lower level for four levels total, like the white, but the low is okay.
I like the size and the charging port cover seems to stay in place well. I didn’t notice the battery rattle until I tried to make it happen.
The UI works fairly well, but I find holding to change levels and a single click for off, like the SC31, more natural. I’m glad there is a shortcut to low.
