B01

Are you fast rider?

If you cycle higher than 28km/h (17mph) in the dark most of the time,

B01 might not be suitable for your riding habit.

this is good info, thanks for clarifying.

I have the coupon for the discount on the B01, thank you kindly. How do I get the charger also? It is presently sold out. Will the coupon be good for some time?

Thanks for the information but could you please tell a bit more about why you think this is a problem.

The faster you go the father away from one needs the light to shine in order to have time to react to what is seen.

This is just a caution to not expect to be able to for 20+mph at night with this light.

Using the product beamshot taken by Lumintop to aid my explanation.

Pros:

  1. Provide front wheel illumination (zone 1) - it will improve visibility for any imminent danger such as fallen branches, potholes, oil slick or even animals, that will throw you off balance from your bike. Helps car drivers and commuters to identify you bike position (road presence).
  2. Anti-glare feature - pedestrians can look into directly into you light at 7m/ 22 ft away, without feeling much discomfort.
  3. Ability to power B01 with external power source through micro-USB port.
  4. Light can be used as a regular handheld flashlight. Could be a excellent tool for dog walking.

Cons:

  1. Light intensity at zone 3 and 4 has reduced by a fair margin as light is being channel to zone 1.
  2. Due to the light shaping reflector, beam width for zone 3 is relatively wide (over 3m/ 9ft). B01 will give you a less defined hot spot than a standard cylinder flashlight (e.g. Convoy S2/8 XP-L HI). Wide spill is not really ideal for urban cycling where sidewalks are narrow with bright street lamps. Beam tends to over spill to oncoming traffic easily, but it is not strong enough to overpower ambient lightnings if you ride on road.
  3. It is possible to increase brightness intensity for zone 3 and 4 by using High or Turbo modes. However, you will drain your battery at much higher rate (<2hrs runtime) and potential experience overheat. My custom S8 XP-L HI is able to achieve better result with less energy.
  4. I have been riding with neutral white flashlight for about 4 years straight. It is pretty hard for me to adjust to cool white beam. Haha.
  5. My flat top 21700 and supplied 21700 to 18650 adapter rattle inside the light! Please ensure using battery with the correct length, and make the necessary battery padding in order to absorb the vibration.

Every knows that it is dangerous to cycle fast if you can't make good judgement of riding/ traffic condition ahead.
