So there is no discount on Ti ones? In the PM you sent it doesn’t have one but on the web Page it says to click messenger for an 8% discount - I don’t do Facebook.
For outdoors, I always recommend the warmer options especially if you don’t need the higher modes.
Both the Nichia and SST20 options will work well for camping. The 3200k XPL 7A is also nice if you don’t mind sacrificing some color rendering for output.
Looks like the warm white xpl hi 7a is not available in any of the titanium, copper, or colored aluminum versions. Only available with the original grey aluminum.
Just placed my order for a stonewashed ti version plus a blue tritium optic, sky blue glow gasket and couple batteries. Ended up going with the 3D emitter. Noob to this modable flashlight hobby, so we’ll see how it turns out!
If you compare these lights to an HDS/Oveready BOSS/Prometheus light/etc this is the cheapest what I would call an exotic/custom light out there!! - does pretty much what theirs do but smaller/cheaper so you can buy 4 FW3’s (in Ti) to 1 of theirs.
It couldn’t desolder itself as the electronics would throttle it back from heat way before that would happen - I thought about getting the Ti/Cu one too but in reality you will only get an extra 5 seconds maybe in boosted time before it throttles back once the Cu is saturated in heat, I just didn’t want the middle to be the weak point with all that Ti because the Cu tube is only about 1.5mm at it’s thickest the tread and 1mm where there is no thread.
Copper and brass lights are pretty, but… I work in the semiconductor industry and I like to use my lights at work. Copper is a big-time contaminant when it comes to manufacturing microprocessors. Even just touching a copper component and then touching a piece of equipment without changing gloves can cause major contamination. So, stonewashed titanium for me
