What are the top 10 signs .."You might be a Flashaholic"?

“You might be a Flashaholic”, if you call a compact thrower + a flooder + a headlamp + an emergency keychain light as a starter kit for your non flashaholic friends.

You might be a Flashaholic, if you come out of the closet, to make room for more lights.

You might be a Flash-a-holic if .....

  • You shake Christmas presents hoping they will sound like a flashlight.
  • You buy a gun to put a light on.
  • You only ride your bike at night .
  • UPS is thinking about making your house a hub.

Looks like we got another spammer account looking to fill up their post count, boys.

Seems like we have found ourselves a Vietnamese kitcheneer. :smiling_imp:
Maybe it’s time to dig up the old hammer?

You might be a Flash-a-holic if ……
You spend most of your life on a flashlight forum.

You might be a Flashaholic ……
…when your friends think you are a nerd and don’t understand your hobby.

Not many (of my friends!) are into electronics or lights.

- you can name LED’s by just looking at them

- you ask “did the power go out?” with enthusiasm and excitement

- get personally offended at the neolithic flashlights people use on TV

- don’t think twice about buying a $15 flashlight, then putting $40 worth of parts into it just to get a slightly warmer tint and a slightly different UI

When you know Q8 GT Fw3a Ft03 are not just random characters…

When you mod a flashlight so you can use it to mod some flashlights :

Many of these mentioned signs are well beyond the line of already being a Flashaholic, and are closer to Flashamaniac .

I think you need only 1 sign that says you’re a flashaholic. You own more than you need and keep looking for more! Sure, a couple in the house for power outage (with one of them in the kitchen for immediate tasks and one in the bedroom for safety), one on your person that fits inside your pocket (within AA or smaller size), and maybe one in the car plus a couple for camping / backpacking / hiking… but if you’ve got duplicates for the same purposes? And despite having all the light you need, you still check on-line to see what’s new and worth buying? Definitely a flashaholic.

If you know all the battery types, can recognize an LED type just by looking at it, have modified flashlights, or know a programmable UI? Then you’re headed for mania, if not already there.

When your table looks like that in the night :person_facepalming:

When you spend more time modding lights than actually using them…

THIS^^^^^^^^

I'm crying cause it's true LOOOOOL

The overflow from your collection has taken over your job work space and you start doing simple mods by just moving the keyboard out of the way. :person_facepalming:

On the one hand, this can be pretty legit sometimes. Like, I gave my father a light and he carried it with him pretty much all the time until literally the moment he died. So I’m definitely keeping that one.

On the other hand, I have at least 100 lights which are “sentimental” or have some sort of story behind them. So… I might have a problem.

When you sleep with your top 5 right by ya.

:person_facepalming:

Guilty.

Okay, maybe not top 5…

Airpro DC7, Cometa, bobofett Inland R22, Wurkkos WK30, Ultratac A7, Luxpro 2×D (actually 6×AA), so 6.

BLF Q8, Sofirn C8F, coupla others within throwing distance.

I try to sleep with a different one every night. Although lately Lady Reylight TI LAN has been getting most of the attention. A smallish AA but a very nice moonlight and useful trits!
