26650 Batteries

The little rare earth magnets work perfectly. You can order from overseas or get them from Harbor Freight, 10 pack for $1.89:

Ok. I wasn't sure, as I read neodymium doesn't conduct 'as well' as other metals/magnets, didn't want a current issue.

Also, better to get smaller diameter ones, or like 25mm so can tape in place easier? What's best way to keep them from moving around with a bump?

I don't own any INR26650E. So no comparison from my side. Sorry!

You know, I'm not sure on that. I only use the magnets for charging purposes, but I read somewhere that IOS shipped their JM05 / King Kong combo with extra magnets - here's a picture from Foy's review:

These look wider and flatter than the rare earth ones I recommended. However, I can tell you that the r.e. ones are pretty hard to move; I can't remove it from my battery without using needle nose pliers.

I'm using these ones and they are very strong and work great with the King Kongs & my TR-J12..................I also put tape around the batteries to prevent the magnet from any jars that may occur......doubtful, but better safe than sorry.

Sorry, but that looks dangerous as all hell.....you don't need a magnet on the end battery for the tailcap........at least I never have. For the TR-J12 I put 3 King Kongs together and placed a 8mm x 1mm magnet in between the 3 cells, thus I only need 2 magnets and tape those 2 joints.

Just got my battery space LiNiCoMn cells...

Deans connector an springless charge cradle

Out of the box cells were ~3.7V

Current climbed up to 2A, where I have it set to max to keep C<1. Waiting for Vbatt to climb....

Heres something strange... Charger tops out at 4.2V like it should (which seems suspicious so early on in the charge cycle), but my Fluke only reads 3.97V. Anyone know whats going on here? Its never done this before with Panasonic 18650 cells. Usually the charger is a little off from the meter... but not way off. **EDIT** just figured it out... loose contact between the meter and cell. fixed without incident.

LOL... mystery solved, bad wiring on my part.

Battery space 3600 LiNiCoMn Cell#1 result:

I discharged the cell from 4.20-3.15V, at 1A and got 3689 mah.

Battery space 3600 LiNiCoMn Cell#2 result:

I discharged the cell from 4.20-3.15V, at 1A and got 3720 mah.

Battery space 3600 LiNiCoMn Cell#3 result:

I discharged the cell from 4.20-3.15V, at 1A and got 3633 mah.

I couldn't resist, before discharge testing it I loaded up cell #3 and took a current measurement in the direct drive HD2010... Not bad at 5.45A, I didn't test it for very long though, maybe a minute or two.

These are the 3600mAh cells - that reading on the first discharge cycle, it could conceivably improve after several correct? Nice to see someone selling batteries with honest capacity.

That one I am not sure about, but at least initially out of the box they are rated honestly.

I don't think those Keygos cells I posted have protection. Site says they do, picture tells a different story. Maybe you should put a small disclaimer next to the listing.

Just a quick tip on the battery space 3600 LiNiCoMn. Since the +B is so big, flat almost looks like the -B (and I was bored waiting for the discharge capacity test), I got a little creative with the sharpie pens. Safety first!!

Are these supposed to be the "safe" chemistry IMR? The kind that will tolerate deep discharge and very high current discharge?

I see now that MNKE 4000mAh IMR is at the moment out of stock on IO. So is 3500mAh version.
