Acebeam K75 SBT90 1.5 million CD Thrower.

This is an impressive light. The range on it is comparable to the W30 laser, but with a rated output of 6300 lumens its much easier to “see” with. It’s also a little more compact vs MF04S or BLFGT.

What are your thoughts on this light, and use of the SBT90?

I like it! I also think the SBT90gen2 is amazing. Now, what are your thoughts of it vs the MF04/S and GT?

GT has the best heat sinking. I also like its UI. MF04S is great and I like the beam profile better with it than BLFGT70, but like its UI the least. K75 is definitely the most compact and the one I would most often take with me somewhere.

Also IMO all giant reflector thrower lights owe their existence to the proof of concept made by the BLFGT :slight_smile:

How do you feel about the K75’s short lived turbo? Or its amazing efficiency and regulation when ran at 3000 lumens or below?

Cool review, even at sustained 3,000lm it’s more than enough for outdoors because of the tight beam.

Matt, I see you tested it at 4,658 lumens at 30s. What did you get at turn on and what batteries did you use?

I did a quick lumen measurement with the TA lumen tube calibrated with Maukka lights at turn-on.

4,310 lumens at turbo in power mode
1,820 lumens in Eco max.

I did not take any measusrements at 30s. Lumens fall after turn-on so 30s should be much lower. I tried both the stock Acebeam 18650 protected cells and Keeppower VTC6 3100mah protected cell and got the same results. They both use the Sony VTC6 under the wrap. For anyone getting higher measurements, what cells did you use? I wonder if I got a lemon or is Acebeam ratings severely inflated on this light. Acebeam is not as good as Olight, Fireflies, and Emisar when it comes to lumen rating accuracy but haven’t seen anything this far off from them. I measured the Acebeam TK16 osram version and got 1100 lumens, which is not too bad.

One of the members on the german flashlight forum who actually has an integrating sphere and not just a tube got 6000 lumens at turn on and 5500 lumens at 30 seconds.

I’m really curious on “usable” runtime vs something like the GT70. If the heat sinking is still better on the GT70 then the added weight is worth it.

I like bigger flashlights, because I like both more beam width and more throw at the same time. The W30 beam width looks a wee bit too narrow for my subjective taste.

The next new, big light is all about current technology providing top performance and optimum balance of lumens vs lux; i.e, prudent balance of power and beam profile/beam width. That is why currently, one thrower does not fit all; several are needed by the enthusiast.

The K75 looks to have max throw for the lumens among its contemporaries, and prudent balance of lumens/lux. Now I just have to wait for availability from my #1 supplier.

Until then, K70, TN42, X65 and R90TS are the sole sources of my thrower excitement.
