what's your plan for the BLF LT1 Lantern?

Camping, work, and possibly portable home lighting charged off my solar array.

Where to begin!

3-point lighting for photography & video - tint, intensity, directional and mounting options are endless!

Emergency lighting in brownouts and power failures

Day-to-day home use. I have two Zanflare lanterns I’ve used the $#17 out of and these LT1s will take over. I find tint-ramping lanterns have give such a pleasing light…

I plan on charging them with a 24w RAV solar panel and a 24 ah power bank just for the fun of it.

This is why collectors need to buy at least three LT1s…

One in mint condition for their collection,

One daily driver,

and one for fidgeting and fondling….

I knew there was a reason I should get more than one !

Camping (though camping season is over from my family for this year) will be the main use and I expect it will be used around the house for fun and occasional work. Looking forward to it arriving.

Exactly why I’ve been on the list for 2+ yrs. Wish I had after Irma, having no grid juice for 10 days, and now Dorian moving in. I will say though, if you use Ryobi One+ interchangeable battery power tools, they have a high/low lantern that did rather well for me, lasting 2 nights on one charge with the standard battery. The new ones have a USB power supply now.

Oh man, all you guys talking about camping makes me itching to book a site next year to camp. Hopefully we can get the lantern(s) by then.

:+1:

Mostly camping but also emergency preparedness. I was just camping with friends and a buddy popped out his old coleman propane lantern. It’s bright, but such a pain to use.

For energy density you can’t beat propane or white gas. But they are both a PITA to use with the mantles, at least that’s been my experience. The mantles tend to break during transportation to and from the destination.

I’m from England, in the winter it gets dark at 4pm for a few weeks, so…

1. For work photography when we need more light or when there’s a power cut, which is rare.
2. To encourage the family to go camping, I went once about 16 years ago.
3. For those candle light moments with ‘her’, without using a real candle.
4. Night BBQ’s … in the winter that would mean using BLT LT1 Lantern at 4pm :person_facepalming:

Maybe I should order another one?

Yeah, you definitely need another. One for work and one for home at a minimum.

Good idea. :+1: I also need to look at spare batteries.

“four sofirn 3000mAh 18650 batteries” – If I buy another four of these will my current charger work? Its the LlitoKala Engineer Lii 500.

Apologies, I’m new to all this and its a little bit daunting at times.

Camping and in case of emergency or fishing trips. But probably live out it’s life in candle mode duty on the desk or night stand.

Camping, Camping, and more Camping

I don’t know of any reason why that wouldn’t work. Plus, remember that the lantern has a built-in USB charger that has been tested by Den already and he said it works pretty well. However, the Lii-500 can charge them faster.

Baby sitting every night!

If the walking dead conquer most of the world, this lantern means a lot. Oh, I still need a baseball bat. Knive can be stuck in the head of it, gun is too loud, also not easy to get in China. Baseball bat is the best. Or a tough flashlight in baseball bat shape.

The LT1 will be ready to order very soon actually. Just in time for the longer winter nights here in the north, and the winter power outages.

:+1:

The Lantern I will by sending to my Son in Portland, OR will be going to Burning Man next year, along with a Solar Panel.
