26650 Batteries

LOL... mystery solved, bad wiring on my part.

Battery space 3600 LiNiCoMn Cell#1 result:

I discharged the cell from 4.20-3.15V, at 1A and got 3689 mah.

Battery space 3600 LiNiCoMn Cell#2 result:

I discharged the cell from 4.20-3.15V, at 1A and got 3720 mah.

Battery space 3600 LiNiCoMn Cell#3 result:

I discharged the cell from 4.20-3.15V, at 1A and got 3633 mah.

I couldn't resist, before discharge testing it I loaded up cell #3 and took a current measurement in the direct drive HD2010... Not bad at 5.45A, I didn't test it for very long though, maybe a minute or two.

These are the 3600mAh cells - that reading on the first discharge cycle, it could conceivably improve after several correct? Nice to see someone selling batteries with honest capacity.

Thanks for the info, kramer. I'll refer to this in the OP.

Dave

That one I am not sure about, but at least initially out of the box they are rated honestly.

Sure np... eagerly waiting for others to post their results too.

I don't think those Keygos cells I posted have protection. Site says they do, picture tells a different story. Maybe you should put a small disclaimer next to the listing.

Viktor

Small world, I am a 2010 grad.

Viktor - hard to tell, but I will note.

BUMP for updates to my post #114.

Just a quick tip on the battery space 3600 LiNiCoMn. Since the +B is so big, flat almost looks like the -B (and I was bored waiting for the discharge capacity test), I got a little creative with the sharpie pens. Safety first!!

I don't see these listed on the first post:

MNKE 26650 4000MAH LI-ION BATTERY (IMR)

http://www.intl-outdoor.com/mnke-26650-4000mah-liion-battery-p-223.html

Are these supposed to be the "safe" chemistry IMR? The kind that will tolerate deep discharge and very high current discharge?

Viktor

@kramer5150:

Very nice, no chance to make a mistake that way. At least if you're sober when operating those. :)

I see now that MNKE 4000mAh IMR is at the moment out of stock on IO. So is 3500mAh version.

Yes, out of stock, and the 3500 as well. I talked to Hank and he said he did not know if he would be stocking these again. I have read elswhere (CPF, I think) that the manufacturer is not going to be producing anymore of these cells, which is a shame.

There is a new version of the KingKong INR26650E with raised top:

http://www.intl-outdoor.com/kingkong-inr26650e-raisedtop-4000mah-liion-battery-p-370.html

Ahhhh, Hank must be reading this thread. I'll note it in the OP, thanks for the info, N.Shock.

I just found Hi-Max branded protected 26650's from the same Ebay seller who carries the Hi-Max 18650's. Pretty steep at $27.50 + $7.00 shipping! Link here.

Thanks for the link, Garry. A quick Google search for Hi-Max Electronics and they do not show 26650 as one of their battery offerings, but their website could be out of date if these are relatively new. However, I have a source for H-Max, I'm going to check to see if these are indeed legit.

EDIT: Confirmed with Shane at Protacticalshop19 that Hi-Max does have these and the ones sold by pingyi.co.ltd are indeed real. I'll update the OP to reflect these in the Protected section. Shane also confirmed they use a Samsung core.

Pok did a capacity test on a trustfire flame 5000 protected cell and it came up just shy of the 4000 mark (3946 mah @ 1A discharge).

thread here....

Also... DX correctly specifies this on their product description....

"- Capacity: 5000mAh (actual 4000mAh)"

Is someone tested 26650 battery form buyincoins?

FYI

In Thaicpf , Dong did three of capacity test on a trustfire flame 5000 protected cell from ebay, (package include TR-J12 )

There are capacity about 2A all of them.

Do you mean 2Amp-Hours storage capacity?... or 2Amp current delivery (before voltage sag)?

thanks

Yes, I mean 2Amp-Hours storage capacity.

He did a test like me in Trustfire A8 thread.
